Twisted, you may now faint

A cry of pain came from the nursery, echoing throughout the camp. As another surge of hurtful shocks went through Lavenderheart, the she-cat knew it was now time. Her kits were coming. Panting heavily, she already felt tired as if she was done already. Trying to keep calm, she couldn't, giving up before flailing about from the pain. "Twistedfoot, Shadeheart, Ivyfur, anybody!" the queen mewed in fright.

Shadeheart ran to Lavenderheart. "Lavenderheart! Try to stay calm. I'll go get some herbs to help with the pain," she meowed before running off to the Medicine Cat den.

"I'm trying my best! How're you supposed to stay calm in this kind of situation?" the she-cat muttered, watching Shadeheart dash back to her den to grab some herbs. This didn't look too good. As she waited, Lavenderheart felt another rush of pain, causing her to flinch. With a soft frown on her face, she wondered what she was supposed to do when giving birth. It's ridiculous to be given this much pain.

Twistedfoot padded into the camp, a rabbit held firm between his jaws. His ears flickered as he glanced around the camp, quickly seeing Shadeheart racing from the nursery. His heart suddenly started to race as he suddenly put two and two together. Oh StarClan.

He should of been happy, excited; after all he was going to be a father but dread filled him up. Would he be a good father? He swallowed as he quickly headed toward the fresh-kill pile to drop off his rabbit, trying to calm his thoughts. He was happy, more than he had ever been but he was still also scared. When he had heard that Lavanderheart was expecting kits, he had been unsure of it, wondering what kind of father he would be if he couldn't keep up with his own kits because of his twisted paw.

However, as he took a deep breath to steady himself, a calming look came upon his face. He could do this. It was only going to be one or two kits right? Litters usually hadn't been that big lately, so if it was one or two, he would be fine. Dropping his rabbit off, he quickly headed toward the nursery and pushed his way in, quickly hurrying to his mate's side. "Is it time? Are they coming? Should I go get Shadeheart and help her carry herbs? Should I go get a stick for you to bite down on? Queens usually bite down on sticks when they are giving birth, right?" Twistedfoot muttered to his mate, his mind clearly in a panic as he attempted to think of what he should do. He wanted to be by Lavanderheart's side when the kits came, but he also wanted to be as helpful as he could be.

Letting out a sigh, Lavenderheart replied, "Relax Twistedfoot. You can help Shadeheart, I suppose, but calm down! I'm the one that's giving birth to the kits. Oh, and you do know that it's not alright for you to panic, right?" Looking back at her mate, it was clear that she was trying to be serious about this, but was also recognizably in panic herself. Of all things, she'd wish that he'd calm down. Compassion in her eyes, she mewed, "I guess I don't mind you getting the stick, but maybe Shadeheart should get the herbs herself. Oh, and of course they're coming, why else would I be in pain?" Gently teasing him, she used a bit of her strength to nudge him gently, before licking him behind the ear, "Everything will be fine - I promise."

Hearing the yowling coming from the nursery, the she-cat let out a sigh. "Must finally be having his kits" Padding forward after grabbing a field mouse she arrived in the nursery 'She might want to appreciate some advice, after all' flickering her tail with slight anticipation looked down at the new queen "You'll need some food once you are done, oh and congratulations" she smiled softly setting down the mouse and sitting down beside her younger sibling "Lavenderheart, I thought I might be needed since this is your first litter" she smirked with slight glee. She was actually excited to see her own bloodline, but different, that they were carrying Skyclan blood.

Shadeheart arrived with some chevril and a small twig. "Here, Lavenderheart. The chevril will ease the pain of your kitting. Also, chewing on the stick might help ease the pain away as well," Shadeheart said. This was her first time helping with kitting. She hoped she was ready for this.

Chewing up the chervil, Lavenderheart felt a wave of relief come over her. Looking towards Patcheye, she let out a weak purr, "Thank you, Patcheye." Taking the stick into her mouth, she let out a sigh as she waited. Soon enough, she felt long surges of pain, taking all the energy out of her. Pushing as much as she could, she looked to Twistedfoot for comfort, before everything seemed to stop for a moment.

The first kit to come out was a muddy brown color with black tabby stripes, two white stockings, and white back paws. This kit had a raccoon-like tail, short sleek fur, and already seemed to be an active one. This kit was a she-cat.

The next kit to come out was a well-built, sleek, fluffy kit with a black pelt. Paws with a dark grey hue, a white blaze at the tip of the nose to the back of the head, connecting with a large white spot on the back that goes from the start of the neck to the beginning of the tail. The kit has light grey tail rings that reflects Lavenderheart. Finally, the kit has white cheek fur. This kit was a tom.

The third kit to come out was a calico kit with splotches of brown, black, white, and grey. Something about this kit looked a lot like Patcheye. This kit was a she-cat.

Although Lavenderheart thought she was done, she was completely wrong. As another wave of pain came, the she-cat bit on the stick, nearly breaking it in half. A fourth kit plopped next to the other three. This one had gray colored fur with white stripes that go along his spine and a few strangely speckled white shapes on his belly. The kit looked smaller compared to the other kits, even having a shorter tail than them. This kit was a tom.

Finally, the last kit to come out was a kit that was three fourth the size of a normal one. The kit has a sleek, slender stature and has a pelt that was an elegant jet-black like a raven. Having tail rings that looked similar to the mother's, many of the features were pointed out with them having a point in a certain area. Under their left eye was a dot with a curve, before another curve, having three points. This kit was a she-cat.

At last, as Lavenderheart finished, she started to weakly lick some of the kits the wrong way to warm them up. Sighing, her eyes softened before she mewed, "They're perfect... Now, the names?" Her voice softer than usual, probably from all the energy that the birth took out of her, she looked to Twistedfoot, her eyes longing, as if asking him to name the kits.

The last kit, wriggled around, searching for milk. However, as she felt her mother's warm licks, she stopped, calming down. Batting at her brothers and sisters, unable to see, seemed to look up before letting out a soft, weak, purr.

Twistedfoot had started to pace the nursery when the kits had started to come, still in his little panic mode. But when he realize that it was over he made his way back to the small group, a small weak smile on his face. "Let's see..." he whispered as he looked at the small bundles at his mate's belly, before noticing something. There was five of them. He opened his mouth, attempting to find words to speak in his surprise. Two or three would of been fine...But five? Could he really be a good father to five kits? He became a bit lightheaded, trying not to panic. No...He could do this...He could do this! He wasn't going to faint... "Uh...A-Alright..." he muttered, leaning down to get a good look at his new kits. One of the first ones he noticed was the grey and white one, reminding Twistedfoot of his own pelt. He smiled softly as he gently lifted his good paw and placed it on the kits head, looking at Lavanderheart. "T-This can be Cloudkit...And..." he paused as he looked at the other kits, wondering who else he should name. He moved his paw until it was gently resting on the head of the black, white and grey tom. The fur colors and the blaze that the kit had reminded Twistedfoot of one thing, a badger. "This will be Badgerkit."

Badgerkit didn't really respond to his new name, how could he? He was only a kit after all. But with the paw random resting on his head, he weakly attempting to swipe at it before letting out a small, pitful mew as he ducked his head and moved away from the paw and moved closer to his mother's belly. He attempted to climb over his siblings, wanting the warmth of Lavanderheart. However, when he felt his youngest sibling's weak bats at him, he stopped. Badgerkit turned to his sister and gently crawled toward her, batting her back. It would be the fight to 'Who-Ever-Falls-Asleep-First' between these two siblings. Of course the fact that they were both currently blind was making it a bit hard for Badgerkit to even hit his sister.

Ivyfur walked into the nursery, and looked over at the crowd. She saw Lavenderhearts kits and then their mother. Something made her want to take one, and raise to be her own. But, she wasn't mousebrained. "Congratulations. " Was all that escaped the small warriors' mouth.

OOC: Just for anyone that's wondering, I used the term "Box" in one of my sentences because our cat likes to swipe his paw at us and tap it a few times and my family just started calling it "Boxing" So Plz dun come up 2 me in da C-Box and be like "AMG STROM CATS CANT BOX U IDIOT Because u didn't look at the start of this post. Thx to all!! ^-^

IC: One of the younger kits, Newly named Cloudkit, Felt the warm toungue of his mother go across his head. He got really comfortable between his older and younger siblings, and his mother. He let out a "Mew" of complete comfort. Suddenly he felt something that felt like an oversized paw land on his head. He weakly slapped at it before turning to "box" one of his other siblings who thought she could just walk over him.

The newly born kit squirmed, her mud brown and tabby black markings standing out among some of the others. Feeling paw tiny paw bat her, she climbed over the other sibling, just to mess with them more. Then she moved herself closer to her mothers milk and warmth. Having her siblings squirming bodies moving against her.

Purring, Lavenderheart replied, "Those are wonderful names..." Looking at the lightheaded Twistedfoot, she let out a long sigh. He doubted himself too much, he would do a great job, she knew it. The she-cat was curious though, as to how she had so many kits opposed to the small litters that appeared so often. Placing a paw weakly on the brown and black tabby, the pattern reminded her of a hawk - simply mewing, "This one is Hawkkit..." Looking over to another kit, Lavenderheart raised her paw slowly, resting it gently on the one kit that made her think of berries. The splotches gave her the simple idea of naming the kit, "This one will be Berrykit." Finally, as she paused for a quick moment to think of a name, Lavenderheart looked at the youngest one, who was feebly patting at Badgerkit. The sleek jet-black fur provided the shadows of a raven, just how she predicted. Licking the she-kit's head softly, the blue and white queen gave a barely audible mew, "And this... Ravenkit." Looking towards Ivyfur, whom she noticed had just entered the nursery, Lavenderheart gave a small, but respectful nod. As she felt her kits move a bit, the she-cat curled closer to them, to keep them warmer. Keeping one eye set on the kits, the queen mewed to Ivyfur, "Thank you..."

Feeling all her siblings practically jump on her, Ravenkit let out a small wail, before attempting to get herself away from the others. With a few weak attempts, the she-kit managed to get herself out, before curling by the warmth and milk of Lavenderheart. Having little sense, Ravenkit soon fell asleep, her body rising up and down slowly as she let out small, weak breaths.

Berrykit squirmed and squeaked. She was slightly confused at what was happening and didn't like the noise. She searched for her mother and the scent of her milk. She tried to push the other moving lumps out of the way but wasn't strong enough. She decided to curl up instead.
