Thrushpaw and Maplepaw's Ceremony

Sagestar leaped up unto the highest ground, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Jagged-Rock for a clan meeting!"

Maplepaw stood in the middle of the clearing, her head held high and her pelt groomed to perfection.

Thrushpaw quickly joined his sister, his excitement obvious just by the way he held himself. His face beamed with joy and he couldn't seem to sit still, but at the same time, he kept himself composed and well done, hoping that he looked as good or better than his sister did. He didn't want to embarrass himself.

Gingerheart moved slowly from the warrior's den as she heard Sagestar's call for the clan meeting. When she finally got out there, she saw just what it was meant for. She suddenly felt happy. Actually, she was overjoyed. Maplepaw and Thrushpaw were becoming warriors! While on her way to her spot underneath the rock, she passed by the two apprentices. "I'm so proud of you," she whispered proudly before taking her seat.

Sagestar looked at the crowd as they gathered, flicking his ear as he noticed Gingerheart, but said nothing of it. "Today, we welcome two more apprentices into our ranks. Maplepaw and Thrushpaw, step forward." He yowled, waiting for them to do so before continuing.
"I Sagestar, Leader of ShadowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn."
His gaze rested on the she-cat first. "Maplepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do." Maplepaw said boldly, lifting her pretty head up in pride. "I promise to uphold the code." Maplepaw was buzzing with excitement. She kept her sharp green eyes trained on Sagestar. She was trained by the finest warrior and she felt like the best warrior out there.

Sagestar was about to speak when she rambled on her little extra bit there, but said nothing of it - his whisker twitched in amusement and continued on, "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name." He said, "Maplepaw, from this moment on you will be known as Mapleface. StarClan honors your courage and loyalty, and we welcome you as a full member of ShadowClan." The tom nodded at his former apprentice, pride in her green gaze, and he would be glad to greet her after her brother's turn.

He paused to let the crowed cheer then switched his attention. "Thrushpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Mapleface! She was named after her beauty! With a small purr, Mapleface beamed with pride. As the clan called out her name, the one broadcasting how pretty she was, she beamed. She loved the sound of everyone calling her name. Ambition seared up her paws. If she was leader she could hear this more often.

Thrushpaw immediately stepped forward anxiously as he heard his sister get her name. That was amazing! She was going to be a great warrior! But before he could celebrate, he dipped his head. "I do," He replied sincerely as thoughts could help but buzz in his head about what his warrior name was going to be.

Sagestar nodded at the tom, "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name." He said, "Thrushpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Thrushstripe. StarClan honors your bravery and enthusiasm, and we welcome you as a full member of ShadowClan." He leaped down and greeted the two warriors, resting his chin on their heads.

In respect, Mapleface licked Sagestar's shoulder, her tail curling in joy.

Following suit, the brand new Thrushstripe licked Sagestar's shoulder respectively, proud of his new name. He was a warrior now! This was amazing!!

Gingerheart looked at both of them with a smile on her face. Being fairly close to them, she quickly chanted for them. "Mapleface! Thrushstripe!"

Mottlepaw sat in the crowd next to her mother. She was sad she wasnt joining her siblings up there, but she had never been as fast as they were. With a pang of pride and sadness in her heart the squaty cat joined in the chant in calling out the names. "Mapleface! Thrushstripe! Mapleface! Thrushstripe" The cat chanted until the words flowed freely without much of a thought on what exactly she was saying.
