Shadepaw's border patrol

Patcheye dug her maw into a piece of prey, her eye sight now restored after the ash had ruined it. She let out a sigh, she hadn't had anytime to spend with her kit since she was so busy and so was he. she had two apprentices to look over also. she heaved herself onto her paws and once again walked to the apprentices den "Shadepaw! time to go on a patrol!" she hissed and walked out, waiting for the apprentice at the middle of Windclan camp.

Shadepaw literally came rolling out of the apprentice's den, careening directly into her mentor. She flopped onto her feet, a sheepish grin on her face. "Sorry, Patcheye! Did you say border patrol?"

"Yes I did, we are going to go along Riverclan's border, if you happen to smell a recent patrol, don't run we are Windclan, and we don't run, even if the fire weakened us all we are all strong" she noted she continued to head towards the camp entrance.

"Okay!" She followed closely behind her, grinning.

Patcheye let out a soft sigh and smiled, the work was really getting too her, especially all the recent things happening in the clan, she glanced back at the apprentice and then looked ahead, maybe she should practice her skills also.

Shadepaw grinned. It was her first time out of the camp as an apprentice, and god was she enjoying the freedom. The camp had been bugging her ever since the fire, it was like she didn't trust it. She kept going ahead of her mentor and slipping back behind her before rushing up ahead of her again; before eventually falling into step next to Patcheye.

"Ok, here is what we are going to do AFTER we do Riverclan's border, we will go along Shadowclan's border, then if we have time before the next patrol goes out we can get something for the clan, I'll show you some hunting techniques and maybe tomorrow, if we do not have anything to do we could sharpen your hunting skills and learn some battle training, both of us will fight each other with claws sheathed." she instructed as if she was deputy. She couldn't help but smile at the apprentice's enthusiasm.

"Okay, Patcheye!" she replied. She was really excited; finally being able to do SOMETHING for her Clan, other than sit around and be a lump all day.

Patcheye couldn't help it but let her smile grow bigger at her enthusiastic apprentice.

------Time skip------

It was about sun high now and it was grueling hot out in the open but she put that aside and turned to her apprentice once again. " Ok we got a little bit of time left but I can show you the crouch, ok?" she meowed instructivley.

"Okay!" She mimicked the hunter's crouch almost perfectly at first, before tripping over an unexplained object on the ground and falling over sideways. She jumped back up quickly, flicking an ear in annoyance. "Can I try again?" she mewed, blushing with embarrassment.

"Yes you can, keep yourself steady and low to the ground, practice makes perfect!" she meowed gladly as her apprentice had almost perfected the crouch.

Shadepaw attempted once more, this time without falling over sideways. "Was that one good?" she asked.

"Perfect, if you try it on a piece of prey you are sure to get it! now shall we get to camp?" she asked.

"Sure." she mewed, and then they went back to camp. cx
