Meddies and thar derpin

Mallowroot snuck out of his den, his small paws treading against the soft, thick grass that felt smooth against his paws. The cat looked up, seeing the moon was brightly lit, and you could see all the small, white stars glowing in the sky.
He poked his head into the nursery, looking around a second before letting out a small whisper to a den. "Psst...! Hailkit!" he called quietly, as he strained his eyes in the dark to see movement in the den.

Hailkit looked up from his nest, "eh," he walked over the the medicine cat. "What do you want with a kit at this hour?" He asked. Sitting in front of the Tom.

Mallowroot gave the kit a stern look. "I get up in the middle of the night for my new medicine cat apprentice and all I get is you yelling at me?" he whispered, with a slight hint of giggle in his mew.

Hail kit looked up at him. "Oh really?" He asked wide eyed. "Shouldn't the leader....?" He trailed off. He looked at him sternly.

"No," Mallowroot answered. "Usually, it's the medicine cat that takes the apprentice to the moonstone."

Hailkit looked up. "So are we going?" He asked.

Mallowroot nodded and turned, flicking his tail for Hailkit to follow.

Hailkit followed after, his eyes gleaming.

The medicine cat and his to-be apprentice finally came to the large, dark cave. So dark that it sent chills up his spine, even being there two other times with Softwhisper. Mallowroot stopped a second as he saw a dim glow from around a rocky corner.

Hailkit shivered looking at Mallowroot.

Mallowroot stopped a second as he came to the moonstone, the gentle rock glowing in the cavern, giving it the one source of life. Mallowroot walked up to touch his nose against the stone.

Hailkit looked at him, not sure what to do.

Mallowroot came back from the moonstone, excitement gleaming in his eyes. "Warriors of StarClan! I present you this apprentice. He has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant him your wisdom and insight so that he may understand your ways and heal his Clan in accordance to your will."
