Endless (Those specified in post may join)

Raccoonstar was on a border patrol with a few of her warriors, and apprentice. Those warriors happened to be Falconfang, Patcheye, and Twistedpaw. The leader didn't get out much anymore because she was always busy in camp, either looking after Lavenderkit, or organizing leader things. She watched as the others talked, and discussed border things, and demonstrate for Twistedpaw how to check the borders, and mark them. Her ice blue gaze unwavering until she saw something move out of the corner of her eye. She turned her head to catch some movement, and started heading towards it.

The leader pondered whether to keep going or head back to the group or keep going. If she kept going she would have the upper hand of surprise, if she stuck with the group she would have strength in numbers, but if she waited for the group what-ever it was would easily slip away in that time so she pushed forward, over the hill near the edge of the territory, next to the Shadowclan border.

As the leader got to the area where she saw the movement, a scent hit her. It was one she hadn't gotten in a while. She couldn't identify the scent right away, but as soon as she did it appeared. Raccoonstar whipped around to face the creature, the creature being known to all clans. It had the signature orange, and black on it. If she ran it would make trouble for her clan, so as she faced the fox, fear course through her, and the instinct to run, she waited for it to attack.

The fox launched itself at her as soon as she thought it would, it gave out a growl as it hit the ground for the leader had swiftly dodged, and was on top of the foxes back digging her claws in the the shoulder blades of the orange creature that was not desired int the territory. But alas the fox was smart for once, and it turned it self over crushing the small gray leader.

As soon as Raccoonstar hit the ground the air was knocked out of her, before she had a chance to regain her breath, she felt another breath on her as the fox picked up the leader, and started shaking her like a rag doll. She manged to get out of the foxes grip, but only to be flung into a rock, and have the breath knocked out of her again, but before the fox could nab her again the small leader stood, blood pouring out of the wounds on her shoulder.

Finally Raccoonstar decided to strike. She leapt towards the fox her claws extended aiming for the foxes face. She manged to get one long scrap on the foxes face, before stumbling, and falling down on the ground after her landing. The fox took the chance to grab her again, but this time by her neck. The fox bit down on her neck causing the blood to come rushing out. Raccoonstar withered in the foxes grip from the pain before letting out a splitting yowl.

Raccoonstar couldn't do anything but, try not to move. Her vision started getting weaker, and the world around her getting darker. If only she had waited. If only she wasn't so paranoid about other clans. The leader thought as she was getting weaker. Finally she closed her eyes, and fell limp as the darkness consumed her. The fox realized this, and tossed the limp gray cat of to the side. Raccoonstar hit the ground and slid a little bit from the wet grass leaving a bit of a blood trail. The fox watched for a moment before turning and starting to head back to it's den not to far away. The lifeless leader looked like she was sleeping, if only. The leader was dead. She had lost her first life.

"Raccoonstar!" Patcheye yelled towards her leader, her fluffy calico pelt stood on end as she looked at her motionless mother. The she-cat prodded her with her paw, brushing against her to see if she responded. She shot up and looked at Falconfang and Twistedpaw, "This is bad, it doesn't seem she is alive so she must of lost a life, though one or two of us should go after it" she asked, trying not to sound bossy around the deputy.

Another border patrol! Twistedpaw padded after his Clanmates, a small smile on his face. Another day as an apprentice...He couldn't help but noticed how Raccoonstar was looking around, but he didn't really pay much attention to it...that was until the beast attacked. The young apprentice froze in fear when he saw the orange and black beast come out of nowhere and attack his mother. He was rooted to the spot as he watched his mother fight the beast...and when it had finally left his mother laying on the ground unmoving, his paws still refused to work. "R-Raccoonstar?" he muttered as his heart raced, staring at the still body before. Sh-She had to be losing one of her lives right? She would come back to him...wouldn't she? He was snapped out of his daze when Patcheye had spoke but fear and shock still hide on Twistedpaw's face. "I-I..." That was all the apprentice could really make out before his eyes diffed back to his mother. He couldn't go after that...After that beast! He didn't know what it was, what it could do...Also he wasn't sure how to fight yet, and that thing had just taken down his mother; the leader of WindClan! How could he stand against something like...like that?

Deciding to give Shadepaw a day of rest, Falconfang tagged along on Raccoonstar's border patrol so he could get out and stretch his legs. It was also useful to help another apprentice - Twistedpaw - mark the borders; it was a useful skill, after all. To be honest, though, his mind wasn't entirely there: he had been thinking about what Minteyes had said concerning kits, and the waiting to have such kits. The knowledge of the rejection - even though it was sound reasoning - weighed heavily on him, and this, coupled with attempting to pay attention to marking the borders themselves, had him in a light trance state, and it was only Patcheye's loud yowl that aroused him from his state to find his leader lying bloodied upon the ground.

His eyes wide with shock, Falconfang raced over to Raccoonstar's body; it was obvious there was no life in her anymore, though she would return... It was only then that the overpowering scent of fox hit the deputy; it was almost suffocating. Now there were two problems: the dead Windclan leader on the ground and the specter of a fox wandering somewhere in the territory. This was going to be the toughest test for the deputy, and he was afraid now that he would fail. Were you even supposed to move a dead leader? He was struggling with the decision, and he knew his clanmates could tell: he was just standing there over her body with wide, indecisive eyes. He had to do something now!

"Twistedpaw, go back to camp now. Grab any warrior in camp and bring them back here. Patcheye..." At this point, his voice faltered as he didn't exactly know what to do with their fallen leader. They should treat her... she was dead though... Oh Starclan, what do I do? "Watch over Raccoonstar until she wakes up. Twistedpaw, you're going to need to find Icepaw as well. Tell her what happened and that she needs to be ready to treat her injuries. Please hurry!" With that, Falconfang raced away from the group, following the scent of the fox. He wasn't planning on taking it on by himself - it was obvious that it was a foolhardy mission - but he needed to find its location to plan an attack.

Twistedpaw was silent; still watching the body of his mother when Falconfang had given him orders...He hadn't moved when Patcheye had said anything; but then again, Patcheye wasn't the deputy. He nodded quickly, before turning and racing off toward the camp as fast as his three good paws and his twisted paw would take him. His eyes were dull, no doubt he was still in shock from the whole thing that had happen. In fact, he almost didn't notice he had entered the camp until he almost slipped down the slope that led down to it. He let out a small sigh, happy he hadn't missed it in his daze run and that he was able to stay upright when he had stumbled on the slope. He soon froze, trying to come up words to yowl. What would he say? He had no idea what to call that thing that had attacked them, he had never seen such a thing before in his life! Instead, he fumbled to the center of the camp with a yowl. "Minteyes! Icepaw!" He would call for other cats but he was pretty sure Minteyes was the only warrior not on the patrol in his panic mindset those were the only two names he could think of calling; his mentor and his sister. He attempted to figure out what the name of whatever had attacked the group was called as he waited for one of them to appear, but how can you name something that you just have never seen before?

"Alright." Patcheye nodded and looked down at her fallen mother "She's not loosing all her lives" Patcheye soothed herself pushing herself into her mothers grey pelt.

Meanwhile up in Starclan, the leader had just awoken from dying. She stood, and looked around the familiar territory home to the starry ancestor cats. She started moving forward questions racing in her mind when her sister, Breezefur, appeared in front of her. Raccoonstar opened her mouth to ask something but her sister answered the unasked. "No, you aren't losing all you lives. You have only lost one." Her sister said with a sigh.

"How long before I return? I need to get back and keep the others from running into that fox! Raccoonstar exclaimed. The leader worried for her clan mates. If they died her efforts would be in vain. "I still need them... I can't lose them yet. Raccoonstar lowered her head as she put out the words. Not even daring to think of what it would be like if she lost them.

"Sister, get a hold of yourself. You don't have to worry it's not their time yet. And you will return as soon as your body is fit enough for you to go back to without dying again. Just be patient." The dark gray she-cat said.

"Be patient? My clan mates are going to get mauled by a fox if I don't do something!" Raccoonstar hissed at her sister before she started to fade away from the starclan territory. She stepped back in shock and looked down at her paws as she slowly faded. The last thing she saw was her sister smiling at her before the world turned black again.

Slowly the leader's senses returned to her. The first thing she felt was the grass beneath her, and a nose in her pelt. She didn't want her eyes to open just yet because of how bright it was. Ah how it all felt like a dream, then the scent of blood, and fox hit her again. Raccoonstar flung her ice blue eyes open, and pushed herself to her paws no matter the pain. Any cat would be able to tell the leader was weak, but the amount of blood loss reduced to almost nothing. She was tired, bit she had a duty to preform. "Get.. Falconfang back here... He doesn't.. need to take it on alone.." She said to Patcheye hoping she would listen.

"Mother!" Patcheye spoke astonished of the leader rising "Are you sure you want me to go get Falconfang? I mean, you are hurt" she meowed, changing the subject slightly "You should lay down and relax while Twistedpaw fetches some more warriors" she meowed. "But, I am glad you haven't lost all your lives" she let out a sigh of relief.

Silently creeping across the grass, Falconfang followed the fox scent until he laid eyes on a small den, nestled away in the territory. This was where the fox was making its home, though it looked like it only was just big enough to fit said fox. Hopefully they could chase it off before it looked for a bigger home on their territory. Traipsing closer and closer, the deputy eyed the entrance to the den. Nothing stirred... for a few moments, anyway. Suddenly, the fox pushed its head out and swiveled to face Falconfang, freezing him in his tracks. Slowly the fox pushed itself out of the den... then it dived forward.

Quickly, Falconfang dodged to his left, avoiding the fox's attack, but it was quickly back on its paws and making another strike. He couldn't dodge forever, but he didn't want to make an attack until his clan could make a concentrated strike... well, maybe it was too late for that. After another avoidance, he lunged forward, claws unsheathed, and slashed across the fox's side, causing it to yowl in agony. Blood dripped to the ground as Falconfang turned around to face the fox once more, narrowing his eyes. Hopefully Raccoonstar was okay...

Raccoonstar' s ears perked up as she heard the towel of the Fox. She stood ignoring Patcheyes words to sit down and rest. Even thought she was still weak she couldn't let Falconfang take on the Fox alone, and she needed to get revenge. The leader pushed herself forward until she saw Falconfang and the Fox fighting, or waiting for the other to strike. The gray leader pushed herself on the ground before springing forward and tackling the Fox biting at its face.

The Fox was astonished by the leader coming out of no where and knocking it over. But the Fox regained itself then knocked the leader away facing the it's two attackers and invaders of its territory.

"Mother!" Twistedpaw had told the cats in the camp about the 'monster' and had soon headed back as he waited for Icepaw to gather her herbs and the warriors to get ready. He was frozen at the top of a hill, his eyes wide. What would he do? His mother was awake, but once again she was fighting the beast. He shifted from paw to paw, debating if he should help them. He didn't know any real fighting moves but he had claws and he knew how to use them...But what help could an appretice with only three good legs and no training give? He would be an easy target to the fox and they would have to protect him I'd he tried to fight...Twistedpaw couched down, his eyes fixed on Falconfang, Raccoonstar, Minteyes, and the beast, planning only to help if needed.

Patcheye rushed after her mother, "Please, Starclan, keep us safe!" she thought and pressed her belly to the ground, Falconfang and Racoonstar facing the fox, the female calico.

As the fox turned its cranium between the two cats the calico launched as its head turned away from her, Patcheye decided to try to knock it down or kill it to a blow to the windpipe.

Patcheye launched forwards, her claws extended as she aimed for its windpipe, tearing a bit of flesh and fur but didn't do any serious, the she-cat hoping Falconfang could somehow kill it while she gripped its orange neck.

Falconfang started in surprise as Raccoonstar and Patcheye appeared to attack the fox. He wanted to call to them, tell them to get back lest the fox take another life, though he suspected they wouldn't listen: Raccoonstar was his leader, after all. Exhaling shakily, he rushed forward and pushed off the ground, claws unsheathed. The fox, who was attempting to shake Patcheye off of itself, wildly lashed out with one paw, catching the deputy's shoulder as he jumped. Its own claws ran down Falconfang's shoulder while his own claws slashed across its eyes. Shrieking in agony, the fox fell to the ground simultaneously with Falconfang. With the rush of adrenaline pumping inside him, he had barely even felt the slashing, but as he landed his right front paw gave out from under him and he crashed down to the ground. No... not again.

Slowly pushing himself up with the fox writhing on the ground, pawing at its bleeding eyes, Falconfang pushed himself forward and grasped the fox's neck in his jaws. Tightening his grip, he could feel the blood gushing past his teeth and filling his senses as a final cry echoed from the defeated creature, and that was it. Its heart stopped beating, and the fox fell limp in Falconfang's jaws. Releasing the bloodied neck and stepping back, he spit out blood onto the grass below, too much blood having stained Windclan territory.

Patcheye stumbled back as the fox fell to the ground, her calico pelt stained with blood, but thankfully not hurt "Are you alright? Falconfang" she she-cat turned towards her deputy, and then, towards her mother "We have to get you back to camp, mother" she meowed and padded over, the adrenaline had left her body and made her feel weaker than she was.

Twistedpaw didn't dare move from his spot ontop of the hill until he saw the beast grow still, but even then he didn't move for a while. Finally, he slowly started to make his way down the hill, his eyes fixed on the orange and black beast. Twistedpaw hurried over to the older cats, his eyes wide. "I-Is everybody alright?" he manged to squeak out as he reached them, glancing with a worry gaze to his mother before turning back to the fox. "Wh-What was that? I-I've never seen such a thing like it before!"
