Ugh... Such Laziness.

Gingerheart sat in the middle of the camp. Yep. That was just about it. She hated just sitting there, yet at the same time, she didn't feel like she had the energy to do much of anything. She had been on border patrols and such to help out the clan, but every time she got back, all she felt like doing was crawling into her part of the den and going to sleep. It wasn't like her to sit around and be so lethargic, but she couldn't think of why she would be that way. Maybe she was still exhausted from the battle. Well, whatever it was, she wasn't too concerned about it. It would pass eventually.

With a heavy sigh, she began focusing back on her wounds. Yeah, they weren't much, but there were a couple of cuts and seemingly deep scratches that seemed to feel very odd. She had gotten them looked at after the battle was over and the medicine cats had cleared her, so she had to be fine... right? But, her thoughts were interrupted when someone approached her, and so she sat up, even though her joints protested from the simple ache that was still there from Fourtrees, and turned to greet whoever was there.

Midnightpaw bounded up to Gingerheart, slowing as she neared her. She hadn't had a chance to talk to the older warrior after the battle, and the last time she had even see her she had been a kit. "Hey Gingerheart!" Midnightpaw purred, sitting down beside her. Her bright green eyes shined with respect as she looked at her.

Gingerheart immediately turned towards the apprentice and gave her a small smile before her eyes began to grow heavy. She couldn't fall asleep just yet, especially since she had just gotten done with a nap. Trying to shrug it off, she slowly stood up, her wounds protesting furiously, but she continued with her action before she fully stood, her tail lashing behind her as she looked at Midnightpaw. "Hey Midnightpaw. How have you been lately? It's been a while since I've seen you!" she mewed happily.

"I've been good." Midnightpaw meowed, smiling up at her. She glanced over the she cat, a small frown growing on her face. Gingerheart seemed different. She didn't know the cause, maybe the battle fatigue the clan was facing, or maybe something worse. Worry set in as Midnightpaw sat in front of her, and she decided to ask. "Are you alright, Gingerheart? You don't seem so good.."

Upon hearing her question about her health, Gingerheart stood up straight and gave Midnightpaw a light expression. "Yeah, I'm still just tired from the battle. It must have taken a lot more out of me than I thought. Are you alright, Midnightpaw?" she asked, trying to avoid any comments about how she was acting. She didn't want to bring attention to herself. She'd feel better soon anyway. It wasn't anything to worry about.

"I'm okay!" Midnightpaw said, smiling. Her tail flicked behind her though, which could show some her irritation. "I'm just waiting to start my training...if Cedarheart ever remembers me." she told her, smirking.

Gingerheart rolled her eyes at the sound of Cedarfur's name being mentioned. "I didn't realize he was your mentor. I'm sure that he will get to your training. He's just been busy lately with trying to fix up camp and getting things back to normal like the rest of us, She mewed before she sat back down again with an uncomfortable look on her face.

"Things are starting to look more normal already." Sagestar padded forward, stretching his body and limbs out; although the wounds on his neck and shoulder still bothered him, they were easily bearable and he was itching to get back on duty - needing to work as hard as everyone else to settle the clan down again. "I think its about time for a patrol." He meowed, still in the habit of watching the twolegplace with wary eyes.

Gingerheart quickly turned to see Sagestar walking towards them and she quickly tried to brighten up. "Yes, I agree," she replied. "And I can go on it if you need me to." she immediately stood up and padded up to Sagestar with determination. Since they were back home, she really wanted to make sure things were safe. She wasn't going to let anything like what had happened before happen again. She would die first.

Midnightpaw's eyes lit up in curiosity and also a little shyness at Sagestar's words. "W-Would I be allowed on the patrol?" she asked the leader, her voice soft. The thought of patrolling the territory excited her; the only part of the territory she had seen was from going to and from Riverclan camp, and that was barely left in her mind.
