Patchpaw's Hunting

Raccoonheart sat at the entrance of the Windclan camp waiting for Patchpaw to randomly appear.

Patchpaw pelted out of the elders den right after fixing the elders bedding. "Are we doing a hunting lesson today?" she asked happily.

Raccoonheart stood from her spot, and turned to face Patchpaw. "Why yes we are. I was planning on heading for the gorge since no one has been there in a while, but be careful not to get to close." The grey she-cat fluffed up her fur as a cold breeze came by. "Let's hope we can find something today." She mewed before turning, and heading out of camp.

"Mom why do you think no cat has been to the gorge for a while?" she asked still quiet happy though.

"Because I haven't sent anyone there to hunt in a while." She mewed as she walked through the cold snow, that was across the ground. "We might be able to find something today, if we are lucky enough." She paused for a moment to look around. "And if I timed this correctly some rabbits will come out for some sunlight soon."

"I hope there will be alot of juicy rabbits, after all it is leaf-bare and it seems to be lightening up quite a bit recently" She meowed happilly a slight bounce in her step.

"There may be only two or three..." Raccoonheart mewed as she trudged through the snow. She froze her ears perked up, as she saw a rabbit munching on some grass that shyly poked through the snow. "Watch me carefully." She mewed to Patchpaw. She crouch close to the ground paying no mind to the cold snow the rubbed against her belly. When she was close enough she sprang toward the rabbit. She landed on the rabbit squarely, and killed it with a swift bite. "See? Now I want to see your crouch."

Patchpaw nodded in understanding and crouched, slowly creeping on a distanced rabbit, digging in her claws into the soil, hoping it would help with silencing her steps, her patterned fur was also helping so she had a bit of a better chance. Striking it square on she licked her teeth in glory

"Good job Patchpaw, Let's see if we can find anything else.." Raccoonheart mewed as she shuffled through the snow searching for any sign of prey.

Patchpaw nodded, she was so proud she got the rabbit, she bet herself she would be the best hunter.

The gray deputy looked around for some prey, that might shove its way through the cold snow to possible find some food. Just as she hoped, a bird landed on the ground to pick at some exposed grass. The queen slowly crouched and made her way over r to the bird. When she felt she was in a good position she jump onto the bird. Once she felt the bird was trapped for good Raccoonheart killed it with a swift blow of her paw.

"Awesome Raccoonheart!" she smiled proudly and moved a few fox lengths away to try on the same type of bird, she crouch her haunches tense as she made a leap, the bird flutttered and she had caught it aswell. "Look mother!" her voice muffled by feathers.
