Birth to another Kit

Raccoonheart sat in the nursery, just minding her own business, when she felt a pain in her stomach. She looked around, puzzled for a moment, before feeling the pain again. She dug her sharp small claws into the ground, and gritting her teeth. "Stormstar!" She called out of the nursery. She felt her stomach convulse again. "Oh great Starclan this hurts.." She mewed to her self, as the ground underneath her claws began to turn to mush.

Stormstar had been snoring away on the Tallrock when his mate's cry awoke him. Great StarClan, he was not having another kit for as long as he lived! This was just getting to crazy! Without missing a beat, he leaped from the giant rock and dashed toward the nursery and pulled himself into the hole that made up the den for the queens. "I'm here, Raccoonheart!" he gasped as he made it to his mate's side. His gaze shifted to the outside of of the den as he raised his voice sightly. "Icepaw, we need you!"

Hearing a cry of pain, followed by her name, the she-cat rushed out of her den, towards the nursery.

"Really? Right now? I'm debating on whether or not I should send you two to the cutter!" the medicine cat growled. She grabbed a nearby stick and shoved it towards Raccoonheart.

"You're lucky I asked about this stuff. Now, bite that stick, and push when I tell you to." Icepaw hissed with a unhappy tone. Great StarClan did she hate having to do this.

Stormstar glanced at his daughter, letting out a small chuckle. "Don't worry, this is it, Icepaw. I'm not sure if I can handle another full ball." With a purr, he gently nosed his mate. One thing popped in his mind; by StarClan he hoped this was a tom!

Raccoonheart glared at her daughter, but took the stick in her mouth, and bit down on it. I am not sure if I can take another one of these! She thought to herself.

"So we are all agree with this being the last. Good." she mewed, nodding in agreement. Icepaw then looked at her mother. The apprentice swallowed the rising lump in her throat and shook away the thoughts of uncertainty.

"Okay... so... just... push I guess..." the lynx-point whispered, slightly shaken by the pressure. She began lightly pressing her paws to the queen's belly, helping the kit reach its destination.

Raccoonheart closed her eyes, and pushed as hard as she could. She stopped for a moment, and then pushed again. She felt the pain go away, as a form landed on the most behind her. She gained a smile. "Thank godness thats over.." She mewed

Stormstar leaned over his new kit and nipped open the little sack, as a grey and white came rolling out. "It's a tom!"

The newly born kit took in a deep gasp as he breathed his first shakey breath. His fur laid at his side as the cold air bit at him, and squeaked as something soft and warm washed over him and brushed his fur the wrong way. His fur prickered as heat flooded his body before he made his attempt to flee his father's tounge. He used his paws to drag himself forward and nose for the body of his mother the best he could. One of his paws, the front right paw, was twisted badly. It looked like it was facing backwards.

As Stormstar's son reached the goal of his mother's tail, the leader caught sight of the twisted paw. His blood turned cold as he caught his breath before glancing at his mate and daughter.

Raccooonheart gave a purr as her son, ventured over to her tail. She leaned and picked up the kit, and placed him next to her stomach. She watched him for a minute, and finally noticed his twisted paw. Her face held a thing of shock, but turned to a glow love. She finally had a tom, and by his looks he was going to be strong. "Twistedkit.." She murmed..."His name is Twistedkit." She said with a smile. She looked at Stormstar her motherly love radiating of her.

The medicine cat paused for a moment, starring at the odd defect. Was there something wrong her too? Was she defected in some way? The she-cat shook it off and looked at the rest of her family.

"Finally a brother. Though personally, I think the name's slightly hurtful." she meowed with a uninterested tone. She looked away as if the sight of this lovely moment bored her, only to hide her scared expression. She mumbled something about borage leaves while exiting the nusery. I hope there's nothing wrong with me. Icepaw padded back into her den, grabbed the borage leaves, brought them to the nursery and left again to do an extensive search on herself for defects.

Paranoid kitty is paranoid.

Stormstar paused for a moment, thinking about the name Twistedkit, before he nodded."Twistedkit...I think he will make the name Twistedkit a pound one to have."

The newly name Twistedkit let out another little squeak as it laid at its mother side, before pressing into the warm fur of her mother and then quickly started to snore. Ah, like father like son.
