Hunting with his Muffin

Stormstar let out a huff as he stood at the crest of a hill, his long fur blowing sightly in the cold breeze. His yellow eyes narrowed as he scanned the horizon for any sign of movement, hoping for a rabbit. Shifting from paw to paw against the freezing wind, he praised StarClan for his long, fluffy coat as he padded down the hill to hunt before the beloved white snow of Leaf-bare fell upon the Clans. Stopping at the bottom of the hill, he waited for his mate.

Occ: Yup, they are now mates together! Yay!

Raccoonheart crept up to the top of the hill slowly so the Stormstar would get ahead of her. She stood there for a moment before rushing down the hill and tackling him like and apprentice would. What? She is still young. She can do what she wants.

There was a sudden gasp as Stormstar was thrown to the ground by Raccoonheart's tackle, followed by a grunt. He started to laugh, as he easily got Raccoonheart off of him thanks to his greater size, and shook the dust from his fur. "Last time I checked we came here to go hunting for prey, not each other." he teased as he pawed playfully at her.

"Aww but your easier to find than a rabbit. You stick out like a log." She frowned but her eyes showing amusement. She then fixed her mind onto the hunt, "I may suggest we try near the gorge. I don't think anyone has been there in a while." She mewed.

Frowning sightly at the 'stick out like a log' remark, the leader just nodded before padding away and toward the gorge. As he grew closer, a smell that he welcomed hit the roof of his mouth, causing him to smile. "I can smell the rabbits from here."

"I know what I am talking about...." Her voice slowly faded as she saw a rabbit shuffling through the grass. She slowly crouched to the ground before she sprang towards the rabbit. She quickly caught up with the startled rabbit it killed it with a swift blow. She happily returned to Stormstar with the rabbit her mouth her eyes showing the she was showing off as she looked at him.

Smiling, the tom nodded at her before spotting a rabbit of his own to hunt. Dropping into a crouch, going as low as his body would allow him being hard to see while being able to move fast and silently, he pulled himself forward until he was a good few fox-lengths away from the clueless rabbit. His haunch started to shake as he got ready to pounce, before his back legs sent him flying forward, straight for his prey. The rabbit's head suddenly popped up as the shadow of death fell over it, but it was to late. With a nice land, one of Stormstar's paws landed on the rabbit's neck, snapping it with a sicking crack. Grabbing the dead prey in his paws, he glanced over at Raccoonheart with a large smile.

Racconheart watched him but doing nothing. After he had caught his rabbit she grew a competitive smile. She looked at him before she saw a rabbit in the distance. Being a small as she was she could move almost as fast as the wind. She also had much endurance but not enough to cross the whole territory. She slowly crept up on the the rabbit before she broke a stick, and it started to sprint away but she wasn't going to allow that. She darted after the rabbit closing it in on it quickly. But alas her attempt was in vein. The rabbit took a sharp turn and she slid past the rabbit as it when down into it's hole. "Rabbit dung." She spat the dirt out of her mouth. She didn't want to return to Stomstar seeing how she didn't catch this one.

Stormstar had seen his mate race off toward the rabbit, but he had missed watching her prey escape as he had stopped a rabbit of his own to hunt as he had realized that she wanted to turn it into a game of who could get the most prey. Stalking toward the rabbit who had hopped slowly from its hole. As he grew closer, he smiled to himself as he reached the hole. There was only one way for the rabbit to escape him now. Leaping forward, the rabbit was unaware of the tom until it was already dead, another prey added to Stormstar's kill list.

Raccoonheart this time found a field mouse going through some grass. Sure it was small, but it was still prey. She wanted to try for it. She knew that she had to be really quiet with this or the slightest sound could make it go into it's hole. She slowly crept up on it then pounced. Sadly she missed by a little bit and the mouse went into it's hole in a flash. "Today is not my day.." She comment to herself.
