Snowpaw and Rustpaw's Border Patrol

After the mud had dripped from his pelt, Rustpaw slid out, helping Snowpaw out. His ears angeled to the right, and his nose shivered. He whipped his around, spotting a fat frog, croaking and hopping mindlessly. Placing a brown paw on the ground, he tested it before he crouched.
Stable.
Gently, he brought himself forward, using the black cover of marsh to aid in his stalking, then leaped, hoping to make the kill..

The frog croaked loudly as Rustpaw landed near it, sliding through muck. It hopped away with small splashes, and Rustpaw stood angrily, mud dripping from his muzzle.

Snowpaw noticed 3 frogs at the edge of the pond. She slid out of the pond without a sound, and waited for the frog, just like Sagestar had shown. Once they were close enough, she lashed out her claws at them, gripping their slimy skin.

Sadly, 2 skinny ones got away, but she managed to catch a very fat one. "I got one!" she said.

Snowpaw got her Fresh-Kill and drug it to Sagestar's paws. "How's that?" she asked.

Sagestar had just returned to look at the two of them, nodding in approval at Snowpaw's catch. "Well done." he purred, "What about you, Rustpaw?"

"I tried for a really fat frog..It got away.." Rustpaw murmured, disappointed.

"ShadowClan isn't known for their hunting skills." Sagestar padded over and flicked the apprentice with his tail reassuringly. "And it's not the last frog in the marsh." He gave Rustpaw a reassuring nod before padding off. "Come on. We're close to ThunderClan land."

Rustpaw smiled and followed after his leader eagerly, hoping he could try for something else along the way.

Snowpaw looked at Rustpaw. "Want some help?" she offered. She noticed 3 toads sitting by a pond. She crept up a little bit closer, and stopped how Sagestar had showed her. She waited until they were closer, and when they were, she could just fit all 3 of them under her claws. She snatched on them, hoping to get a grip, and get them back to Sagestar to feed her clan.

She smiled as she got the biggest 2, but the last one got away. She brought them over, and put them in the tangled roots of an oak tree. "I'll put my catch here for now!" she said.

Rustpaw noticed two more by the pond as well. Crouching low, he dragged himself forward and leaped, claws outstretched, hoping he could catch these...
One frog croaked loudly and fled, while the other gave a dieing gasp of a croak and died in his maw. He stood up with pride, the fat amphibian limp between his teeth.
