Basking in the Sun

Dewclaw layed out in the sun of the morning, just outside of the warriors' den. She'd decide to try to bask, like she'd seen warriors and elders do. So, she layed there and waited to be interested. It took only a few seconds to bore her, and then she adjusted her position. But that still didn't do, so she adjusted again and again until she was on her back staring at the sky. "Ugh! How could anyone possibly enjoy something as boring and uneventful as this?" She moaned out loud, not considering that someone else may be around.

Lionstar padded into camp, spotting Dewclaw. "Well considering most warriors are out patrolling and doing useful things for their clan..." He pointed out, emphasizing what she should probably try some time, "...They get tired and like to bask in the sun a while."

"Oh! Lionstar!" She sat up quickly, suprised and embarassed to be caught being useless. "I was planning on leaving later in the day, maybe when the others had come back. I was going to, I promise!"

"It's fine." Lionstar meowed. "Complaining doesn't help with anything, though."

Mosspelt trotted out of the warrior den and yawned then dipped his head to Dewclaw and Lionstar "Hello Lionstar, Hello Dewclaw"

Lionstar looked over at Mosspelt. "Hello Mosspelt." Lionstar meowed calmly.

"Hi, Mosspelt!" Dewclaw said cheerfully. "Were you going to go on patrol sometime?"

"I was thinking of going on a hunting patrol after I ate" he replied. Then he ran to the fresh kill pile and back so he didn't miss any conversation. He has a rabbit (FYI)

"You think I could go with you? I have nothing to do right now, so I might as well be useful." Dewclaw thought a hunting patrol might be good, so she could watch the older warrior and learn from a more experienced cat.

He tore into rabbit and when was done he meowed "I was thinking of getting the apprentices and you and if Lionstar wanted to go he could of course, so yes you may go"

"Yeah, that sounds like alot of fun!" Then remembering that she wasn't an apprentice anymore, she added, "But it's not about fun, it's about providing for the Clan. So, we should do that because it's nearing Leaf-bare."

Mosspelt nodded and buried his bones then started cleaning his paws "Yes, yes we should"

Lionstar nodded in satisfactory. "Good attitude." He huffed in amusement. "I'll be happy to go."
