Gingerpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Sagestar poked his head out of his den and glanced around the clearing with bright green eyes before throwing his gaze up at the sky, eying the moon. It was time. It had seemed hardly a bit ago he had done her apprentice ceremony, and now...
The young tom leapt up on the Jagged Rock, letting out a loud yowl. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Jagged Rock for a clan meeting!"

Feathersong lept up below Sagestar.

Gingerpaw had just been told about the wonderful news and now she couldn't hold still. Padding out of the apprentice's den for the last time, she turned around and looked at what used to be her bed. "Goodbye, apprenticeship; hello warrior!" she mewed excitedly as she joined her leader and deputy/mentor at Jaggedrock.

"Congragulations, Gingerpaw," Feathersong whispered to her old apprentice. "You're a warrior now. I've made you a bed already," she meowed.

Rustpaw opened an eye that glittered with rage. He slowly stood and walked out of the den. He sat away from Feathersong and Gingerpaw, tongues of shadow nipping his back. His eyes glittered with rage as sharp black claws dug into murky black soil. Hate, rage, and envy boiled inside him, and he felt like he was going to scream. He wanted to. To scream from sunhigh to moonhigh. Scream, and scream.

Yea, sure, he was.. a tiny bit happy for Gingerpaw, but seeing as his mentor had neglected him any wisp of training, he was left with not even knowing what the outside of camp looked like, or what the borders were. He needed a new mentor; at least, that was his solution.

"Gingerpaw, please step forward." Sagestar meowed as soon as the clan was gathered.

Gingerpaw proudly stepped up to her place, her face beaming as her leader looked down at her.

Snowpaw, staying towards the back of the crowd, watched with an annoyed expression on her face. The leader had so much time on his paws, yet she had no training yet, what so ever, and here her friend was, becoming a warrior already!

*cough* ... Sagestar. Corner of shame. Now. *pats Snowpaw* ;A;

Sagestar shifted around on his paws a little uneasily, although he wore a strong mask of confidence, this would be his first time giving the warrior ceremony and he was nearly as nervous as Gingerpaw surely was. The young tom took a deep breath and calmed himself, gazing up at the sky and up to StarClan, "I, Sagestar, leader of ShadowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn."

He flicked his gaze downward again, finding the apprentice in her place. "Gingerpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend your clan even at the cost of your life?" He asked slowly and clearly, as if giving her time to understand the true weight of these words.

Rustpaw shuffled back to Snowpaw, watching with cold eyes.

She was the only one that felt his anger.

Snowpaw looked at Rustpaw, her tail brushed his shoulder. "Sagestar needs to give me my training." she whispered to Rustpaw, going back to watching Sagestar.

Rustpaw nodded. "Same here; I haven't even been out of camp yet! My mentor hasn't been in camp for a while; she kinda disappeared." Rustpaw whispered in reply.

Snowpaw nodded. "Same. The only time I have is when I went to the gathering last moon, but, nothing much." she said,

Gingerpaw hadn't exactly noticed Rustpaw and Snowpaw on the other side of the gathering spot, but she had slightly heard their mumbling. After clearing her thoughts and telling herself not to worry about it, she gave Sagestar a confident look before saying, "I do."

Sagestar nodded quietly to himself, though growing a little impatient with the two chatty apprentices in the back, it wasn't important right now. This was about her ceremony. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Gingerpaw, from this moment you will be known as Gingerheart. StarClan honors your spirit and your determination, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan." The gray tabby then leaped off of the Jagged Rock, stepping forward and up to the newly-named warrior, resting his muzzle on her head gently.
