Honeypaw's Warrior Ceremony

Honeypaw

Honeypaw eagerly rushed to join his clanmates gathering for the announcement, settling down at the foot of the Jaggedrock and looking up at Nightstar. Ever since his Moonstone ceremony, Honeypaw knew it was only a matter of time before he finally had his warrior ceremony. And he wouldn’t lie and say he didn’t perk up every time a meeting was called.

Iceheart

Iceheart followed as closely as she could behind Nightstar when the meeting was called. She did not follow him up onto the Jaggedrock of course, but her gaze remained trained on Nightstar the entire time. She’d spoken with Nightstar for a time about Honeypaw being ready to become a warrior, and she was tingling with excitement. Her first apprentice, finally ready to be a warrior. He’d been an apprentice longer than most cats and had lived through much tragedy—but it was time. He was ready.

She sat herself beside Thalia and did her best not to look at her former mentor, or any other cat for that matter. She would not betray the nature of this clan meeting, and she would ensure that all focus was kept on the cat who had finally earned this ceremony. She hoped that Honeypaw liked his warrior name when it was bestowed to him.

Honeypaw

Honeypaw was unable to contain the excited gasp that left him at the sound of his name. With a bright grin he stepped forward up to Nightstar. He felt warm with pride, straightening up to his full height and taking a deep breath as he schooled his expression into a more serious one.

He dipped his head respectfully to Nightstar. “I do.” He said, meeting Nightstar’s gaze evenly. His own honey-gold eyes sparkled with excitement and joy, the light in them reflecting the pride he felt at reaching this milestone.

Duskflight

Duskflight's ears perked, his tail flicking in anticipation. In all truthfulness, he was glad for Honeylight. He had been ShadowClan's longest apprentice, and with every right, he deserved to be cheered on and joyous for his long-awaited ceremony. And so, with his new name now officially set, Duskflight purred, cheering on warmly as he left his seat to approach the new warrior. "Honeylight! Honeylight!" Tail brushing the tom's shoulder, he grinned. "Your warrior name suits you, Honeylight. Congratulations. You've really deserved it."

Webshadow

 
At Nightstar's rousing call, Webshadow pulled himself laboriously from the elder's den. He did not particularly care for new Clan policies, or ceremonies, or anything else the young leader had to say. Not for any air of disrespect, he simply couldn't bring himself to. However, when Honeypaw's name was called, the tabby's ears twitched forward with interest while he watched the Clan gather.

Webshadow wasn't quite sure what stirred him back to his paws, made him lope forward to join the rest of the crowd. They weren't close at all; he'd only spoke with the big tom once. And yet as his new name was called and their Clanmates began to cheer, the elder found himself limping through the crowd until he reached the new warrior's side, where Webshadow stopped to flick his tail across Honeylight's shoulder, opposite Duskflight. "Congratulations, mouser. You earned it Honeylight." He rumbled quietly. Webshadow didn't smile, but the look in his eye was completely genuine.

Honeylight

Honeylight's eyes went wide as his name was given to him. Honeylight. He marveled at the new name, warmth flooding him. He gave Nightstar a brilliant, bright smile, and with a rumbling purr, he said, "Thank you, Nightstar." 

He couldn't help but stand taller at the cheers of his new name, purring loudly and unable to stop himself from kneading the ground in his delight. He grinned at both Duskflight and Webshadow, giggling at Webshadow's nickname for him. "Thank you, both of you!" He said. The genuine excitement and pride in their eyes made him feel warm. He would not let them, or anyone else down, as a warrior. He was determined to do all he could to honor his clan.
