Fox tried to turn around and bite Butterflystar again, "I can't! I need to help mommy and daddy! Why won't you let mee goooooo?" she wailed

Icepaw flinched. "Kit....your parents won't be coming back for you...there's nothing you can do to help them." He murmured in sympathy. Turning to Butterflystar, he added, "we could bring her that proof, too, if it makes her feel better."

"Yes they will!" she snarled. "They loved me and they fought off the foxes for me! They'll come back!"

Icepaw leaned in close to the kit. "You're right. They love you very much, and maybe will see you in your dreams occasionally. They fought those foxes off because they wanted you to live. Listen close kit, out there in the wild, alone, you'd easily be killed. Your parents would most likely want you survive, or they...fought that fox for nothing." He mewed softly, trailing off.

Fox started to cry, "But I will be safe once I help them. They'll protect like with the foxes and they hunt for me until I learn how!" she sobbed

Icepaw wrapped his tail around the kit and sighed. "They are with you now, but they can't protect you like they did anymore." He mewed quietly, dipping his head. His eyes glowed with sorrow at the situation. He didn't know what would happen if he lost his mother...

"But they can't be gone!" she objected, still crying

Icepaw shook his head. "They aren't gone. Their spirits will always guide you, young one. But right now, it's better you stay here. Without your parents, it's almost impossible to survive alone out there...especially as a kit." He mewed.

Fox calmed down, "O...okay" she ducked her head

Icepaw sighed. "I appreciate that. If you want, I can come visit you some times, when I'm not training with Butterflystar." He purred softly. He was glad the kit had calmed down, and was being more cooperative. Even if she planned to leave when she got older, they welcomed her now.

"Okay" Fox cheered up a little

Runningfoot nodded, "I can as well" Her mothering instinct was kicking in with this kit.

"O-okay" Fox smiled, Who ever thought cats could be so nice?

Shiningpaw who was still there. purred and mewed" me too!"

"just remember your duties" she purred seeing how icepaw calmed this kit down so easily as she walked out of the nursery.
