"Okay, good!" She mewed as she heard the scurrying of a rat or two.

OOC: okay.. so I kinda want Shadow to lose a life here... would it be okay if she were to lose one in this topic due to possible rat attack?? :3

OOC: Sure

IC: The rats quickly came pouring out of the hills and surrounded he cats Nightclaw snarled a visious snarl

At that moment, Shadowstar quickly jumped to her paws with claws unsheathed and hackles raised. She knew rats were fast, but nothing like that. She hissed and snarled at the vermin as they huddled around the couple. "Nightclaw, we need to run. We can't fight them all. I'll start fighting them off. You get out of here as quick as you can, okay?" She demanded.

Nightclaw hissed and threw a mouse to the side "Ok, but I'll come back if you need me too"

OOC: sorry for posting here, but this kinda reminds me of that time with Ghoststar...

OOC: oh dude I completely forgot she practically did the same thing cx oh well.. it's the curse of the SC leaders.. they all die by rats at least once~ oh and happy 1000th post btw Dark :D

She gave him a quick nod as the first wave of rats quickly moved in. Getting in a defensive stance, she quickly tore through some of the rodents as they approached her, but others managed to leap onto her. Letting out a fierce yowl, she threw them off of her only for them to be replaced by others. "Go Nightclaw!"

Nightclaw took a great leap and landed outside the rats and looked behind and darted up a nearby tree "Up here Shadowstar!"

Shadowstar looked up at the sound of her name to see Nightclaw in a nearby stray tree. Seeing hope and an escape, she tried to make her escape through the rats, but that was her fatal flaw. As soon as she had stopped fighting, the rats jumped onto her in a large dog-pile, biting into her skin in every opening they got. Letting out a yowl of pain, the rodents quickly took her down to the ground. Now she was caught. Trying to claw at her attackers, she managed to only get a few before she was completely overcome. Withing a matter of seconds, her yowls grew weaker until she fell silent. After a few moments, the rats finally took notice that the leader was not fighting back and quickly scattered back to their own little homes, leaving a lifeless body in their place.

"NO!!!!!!" and Nightclaw leapt from the tree and prodded her body "Shadowstar?"

Nothing happened for what seemed like forever. After several minutes, a deep breath filled Shadowstar's lungs once again as a lot of the fatal bites she had received healed. Opening her eyes, and sitting up slowly, she looked at Nightclaw weakly. "Don't worry," She mewed half-heartedly. "I still have eight lives left..."

Nightclaw took a releaved sigh "I forgot"

She flicked her ears at him before standing up uncertainly. "Okay... we really need to get back to camp," she responded, the other bites that didn't heal stinging. She slowly limped towards the direction of the exit.

Nightclawzoomed up beside her and supported her and they padded over to camp
