Nightpaw's Patrol

Scarletfire gave a small nod. "I scent something. Do you?" The scent was a crow, and it was nearby in a climbable tree. "And if you do scent it, where might it be?"

Nightpaw smelled the air "Ummm....crow.....in a tree..." then he walked to the tree it was in "This tree." Nightpaw climbed the tree and slowly stalked balancing on the branch and then pounced he grabbed the bird with his claws but nearly fell of the branch so he had to release the bird and he grabbed a branch with his claws and dropped himself onto the ground "Fox-Dung!!" then he turned to Scarletfire "Sorry, I made a simple mistake"

Scarletfire gave an irritated breath. "That was all wrong. No matter, we must not waste time. Come," she said, padding off. "There's not much prey over here. Lastly is the Thunderpath..."

At the Thunderpath, sharp odors hit their nostrils, but Scarletfire didn't even wince. "The monsters will buy some time before your prey will notice you. Their putrid scent will hide your scent, and their loud, obnoxious rumbling will drain out your pawsteps," she said. Watching forward, her fur was blown by a passing monster. She didn't mind the loud noises they made. "Can you scent anything?" It almost made her eyes water to inhale so deeply. There definitely was a scent of a toad, but it was almost totally blanketed by the monster's stench.

"Umm....A horrible smell. 10 times as bad as mouse bile. Oh wait a toad! "

"Yes, now find where it is. Make sure you don't get hit by a monster, too," she said, watching him.

Nightpaw smelled the air and slowly crept onto the Thunderpath and stalked and pounced as a monster started toward him he grabbed the toad and ran took a great leap back to his territory just in time. He gave the toad a bite to the head and looked at Scarletfire.

" See what I told you!?" she spat. "Good catch, but don't do that again! I want to see you catch two more."

Nightpaw walked into a bush and found the scent of a rabbit he got into a hunters crouch and leaped he grabbed the rabbit by it's head crushing it instantly. He buried it then moved on. Then he found the scent of a mouse he stalked it then leaped he land on it crushing it with his back legs. He went back to Scarletfire and dropped his rabbit and mouse in front of her.

"I learned the borders and I learned to be careful with rats from Carrionplace because the rats can carry a deathly infection." he said

"Good. And now, what about hunting?"

"To keep my rump low to the ground and to stay up wind of the prey" he meowed confedently
