Welcome to SkyClan Patrols and Duties: Border Patrol! Marking and patrolling the boundaries not only keep out nosy neighbours but also hostile rouges. Ensure the scent markings are renewed and keep your eyes out for evidence of other cats or predators crossing into SkyClan territory. Due to a recent border skirmish the last moon, the patrol has once again been sent along the ThunderClan border and is being led by Wolfstar herself, deputy in tow! Though this month's patrol feels more like a family outing, with (almost all) Wolfblossom's grandkits in attendance.
Patrol Leader: Wolfstar Participants: Brackendawn, Honeydew, Harespring Honeydew met Wolfstar and her brothers at the camp entrance, her paws buzzing with energy. A whole family patrol! She had organized this intentionally after last moon's catastrophic border patrol, where Hopepaw had accidentally crossed the border, which caused a chain of events that led to Yewshade being attacked by Silverdusk on SkyClan territory. The whole situation had spun out of control, and the deputy learned a hard lesson that day. And that is why they were here now. Surely nothing would go wrong with all of them on patrol together.
A shadow of fear hung over Honeydew despite her excitement to spend time patrolling with her family. There had been very little activity after the discovery of the fox carcass. No cat had heard nor seen anything. All seemed too eerily calm. The young deputy felt as though danger lurked just around the corner.
Though she had organized the patrol, she now looked to the patrol - and clan - leader, Wolfstar. "Alright Wolfstar, let's hope this patrol is less eventful than the last," she half-joked with a smile. She gave Brackendawn one of their signature friendly headbutts, and smiled at Harespring. Her and Harespring had been quite distant compared to her relationships with Brackendawn and Shatterdsky. She was excited as the prospect of spending more time with him and getting to know him better, both as her littermate and as a clanmate. "Despite everything going on lately, it's really nice to spend time together like this," she offered.
It was a nice day to patrol, and Wolfstar had been pleased to see most of Honeydew's siblings were joining this one. A family outing, almost, hopefully lacking in recent drama. Shatteredpaw was confined to camp still, not that he would have enjoyed being on a patrol with his siblings or grandmother, Wolfstar was sure.
"I hope so." She nodded at Honeydew's words. The last thing the clan needed was more trouble with Thunderclan. Granted, the other clan was not what had Wolfstar so on edge. No, that honor belonged to whatever had ripped a fox to shreds. There had been no sign of it since, but the leader was not convinced the threat was truly gone. She could see the fear that her deputy was struggling to hide, and after everything couldn't blame her for it. "An uneventful patrol would be a nice change of pace." Being wary was a good thing, however. Her own ears pricked forward as she led the patrol away from camp and toward the fallen oak.
"Harespring, Brackendawn... How are you two?" She hadn't gotten the chance to spend much time around her grandsons, though Brackendawn at least she had spoken with after his return. This patrol served as a way to do that, at least.
Somehow patrolling the ThunderClan border again, even with his family, did not feel like a reward. SkyClan may have been the instigators in some cases, but they weren't the ones to break the code. Still he didn't feel like he hated ThunderClan either, nor scared of them, despite how it may have looked like he'd possibly, maybe been cowering when Silverdusk had launched themself over the border. That... was a personal thing, not a ThunderClan thing. This time he was at least on a patrol with entirely sensible cats, which was reassuring. He smiled at his family, before returning Honeydew's headbutt. "Considering I was on both I hope so too." replied Brackendawn to Honeydew, even if she was more so addressing their grandmother. His gaze then travelled to Wolfstar. "I'm well. Shame about ..." It felt wrong calling him a paw, Shatteredsky had worked so hard for his name, and if Myrtlebloom had instigated, was his brother so wrong for defending himself? Shouldn't Myrtlebloom be punished too? Not that he wanted his friend punished, but... It just didn't seem fair. "... Our brother, he's always been a little off, but he cares about our clan, and us... Somewhere... Deep down... I hope." he smiled widely "And what about you, Gramma?"
Harespring couldn't help but scoff slightly at Brackendawn's comment about their brother. He didn't know what the rest saw in the tom, but he certainly didn't share their point of view. He wasn't going to comment further. This patrol needed to be peaceful, at least they were going to try. "I am alright, no sign of the sickness returning just yet." So far he had been clear for a few moons. No signs of what ailed him in the past. He just hoped it stayed that way.
