A steadily, the predators became more scarce as patrol after patrol took them head on. Never taking the lead, Virtue walked side-by-side with Rookfire and Stagpaw. A report had come in that a raccoon had been wandering the territory, and they were hot on its trail. "Look over there, between the trees: that's our target. Each of us will have only one chance at nipping it's heels before catches on." He dropped low, belly just barely touching the ground as he motioned for the other to do the same. "Use the shadows to your advantage; meld into the background until you've gotten into a good position. Strike fast and strike hard. Remember. You get one chance. Decide amongst yourselves who goes first and make it quick."

Stagpaw had been hearing the other apprentices’ learn about the predator patrols, had been hearing about how the nomads were sharing secret moves. It had started to make his stomach hurt every passing day that he wasn’t chosen to join them. The fear of missing out on the opportunity to know a move not everyone else did was just too much.

When his name was called to join Virtue and Rookfire on the next one, his heart kept out of his chest. He was on his paws faster than you could say ‘Shadowclan’.

The journey to find a predator was short, Virtue seemed to already know where to look. As instructed he crouched down, listening to the instructions.

Without letting the tom even finish the full sentence,  Stagpaw barreled forward, paws as loud as a bear on the forest floor, though to his credit he was fast. Fast enough the Racoon didn’t catch on fast enough, and Stagpaw was already behind it, lunging forward with his jaws outstretched. He snapped at the soft tendon of its’ heels and backed away. The apprentice was already winded, the running was a lot for him, usually he just went for brute strength.

The raccoon screeched as teeth met the soft tendons of its ankle, its knees buckling under it. Nasty kitty! Mean kitty!

Virute sprang forward, silver tabby pelt a blur as claws swept across the raccoon's dishevled pelt. "Rookfire! Now or never!"

At Virtue's command, Rookfire dashed behind the raccoon's legs, mirroring what Stagpaw did. Biting at the predator's heels, the black tuxedo saw it collapse from the damage. "Nice." It seemed to be too weak to stand now, so the black tuxedo paced around it, looking for a way to swiftly kill it. To his surprise, the raccoon soon stopped moving entirely, the blood loss from the heel bites too much for it. "Jeez, this is really good. Thanks for teaching us, Virtue!"

Rookfire used Ankle Biter on Raccoon, dealing 8 damage and costing 30 stamina. Raccoon is dead.
