Nurse's Assistant (closed)

Inbetween filling the needs of the medicine cats and trying to fill the fresh-kill pile as needed, Sablestrike tried to give himself a few moments each day to relax. Though he respected her immensely, he had no interest in turning into Leopardstar and pushing himself to his limits every day. What he was doing now was enough to get by, any more and he may not be able to put his all into the next day, or the day after that. Still, waiting around until his next hunting patrol was too dull to bear. The tom had realized his efforts hadn't allowed for him to spend time with those sick, so he lead himself to the plot of land that housed the sickest of Shadowclan's cats. Sablestrike spent a few moments at each nest, sharing comforting thoughts with those that he met until he reached a silver molly.

Sablestrike's tail twitched as he observed Tawnyshadow, a tiny voice in the back of his mind telling him to turn away and find someone else, but he couldn't bring himself to do something like that. She was his clanmate, even if their relationship had turned into... what it was. Padding up to the molly's nest Sablestrike settled himself beside her. A few minutes. Just a few minutes and they could be done. "Tawnyshadow." He meowed. "How, er, how are you doing? Do you need me to fetch you anything?"

Sablestrike stared at the molly as she rose from her nest, and resisted the urge to push her right back down. Doing so may only make things worse for the molly. Even as she tried to act strong in front of him, it was clear she wasn't feeling well at all. Letting out a sigh, the tom started. "Don't be stubborn about this. I need you feeling better as soon as possible, it's hard work having to provide for the clan with as few paws as we have." While true, some deep part of him just wanted to see Tawnyshadow back to her usual self. "It sounds like honey would do you wonders, maybe a few poppy seeds. Shall I fetch some for you?" Sablestrike's tone was more insistent this time. If he had to shove a honey-covered paw down her throat he would. Tawnyshadow wouldn't like it, but then again she didn't seem to like him at all lately. Nothing would change, but it would at least help one capable warrior recover a little quicker.
