Skyclan Newsletter | December 2023
Welcome to the Skyclan newsletter! These newsletters will be posted on the 1st of every month, and will recap important events and announcements pertaining to Skyclan, including signal-boosting ceremonies and open threads. If you have suggestions for either the newsletter or something you would like to see more of in Skyclan, don't hesitate to reach out to the clan's High Ranks on the forum or through discord!
Chronological links to important threads related to Skyclan's clanwides, role in sitewides, clan meetings, etc, with a brief explanation of what's going on. Characters should probably be aware of these things in RP.
Current Happenings Predator hunts have been put on pause due to the sitewide bringing starvation and sickness sweeping across the clans. SkyClan seems to have been hit hard by the mysterious illness that has struck the clans, and with tensions brewing, who knows what will happen next. You can check the this announcement and Badger's lovely spreadsheet for more information
With the forest in such a dismal state, it seems that none of the clans' territories are capable of supporting them any longer--not even to allow allies to hunt in times of need. With that in mind, the clan leaders collectively made the decision to leave the forest territory that they know behind in search of a chance at survival.
...And the secret that Skyclan's leadership has sat on for the past few moons has been revealed. It was never going to last, after all; how can a clan keep a once-exiled fugitive secret when traveling for so long? Riverclan has found out, through the loose lips of one chatty warrior, but they may have found out anyways.
Predictably, Perchstar is not thrilled by this revelation. Her confrontation with Birdstar opens with claws, and the spitting from both sides ends in the open declaration, and acceptance, of war. Birdstar and Perchstar both want Beechfang's life, and both will do anything to have it. SkyClan has been put on the defense, challenged to take up arms against the combined forces of their former allies and risk their lives in defense of one.
In non-clanwide, non-sitewide news, Sunfire led a patrol to Thunderclan-controlled Fallen Oak in a desperate bid for prey, just before the clans left the forest. It ended disastrously, with a fight, a leader's life lost, and an alliance very likely broken. Things have been so busy that Mottlestar and Birdstar have not been able to properly discuss it, but be on the lookout for consequences of that too.
Ploverpaw seems to have gone missing after the nasty storm while the clans were traveling. All cats should be on the lookout for the apprentice!
