Snakerocks, or Sunningrocks? [open]

Peaceful lounging. That was perhaps the best use of the warm stones that separated the Thunderclan and Riverclan borders. Well, perhaps 'separated' was an ill use of the term in recent times. No, now they marked the conjunction. Scent markers found themselves muddied heavily by the two clans sharing the stones, though there was still a sharp distinction on whose land belonged to which respective clan. Not only by looks, but still scent. One step too far, and the deep tones of bracken and earth stung the lungs. Step towards home, and it was the distinct smell of water and fish that radiated in the mind.

Mistwalker and Egretswoop both found themselves comforted by this fact. Thunderclan had done well to respect the treaty, and they had no reason to worry. However, what did pop up as concern for both came in the sound of roiling hisses, sneaking right up on the duo. That sneaking didn't last long, as Egretswoop's head whipped around. "Snakes!" She hissed, her teeth already going to snap for one. Mistwalker's, the other.

Dovepaw rarely found time to sit around and relax. However, when Egretswoop had mentioned she and a couple others were going to rest on the Sunningrocks and asked him to join, he'd done so eagerly. He had fond memories already of spending time on the rocks with his siblings, squabbling about shiny stones and who was better at swimming. Even though the scent of ThunderClan still made him feel... odd, he was getting better at ignoring it. So he'd been happy to accompany his mentor, not only to spend time around her, but also for the invitation to take a moment of relaxation. But it seemed like their respite wasn't to be. No sooner had he found a warm place on the stone and settled down, sighing in contentment, than he heard his mentor hiss out a warning. His eyes flew open. He leapt to his feet in time to see two snakes slithering on the rocks, likely also looking to sunbathe, and none too happy at the interruption. Thankfully, Egretswoop and Mistwalker--Willowpaw's sister?--were quick to strike before the enemy could. Heart racing, Dovepaw did his best to retaliate as well, joining his mentor and making a quick clawed blow at the nearest snake.

Sprucebark was nearby. Sunningrocks to him reminded him of minksplash and how she used to be there with the family too. How she still should be there with them but wasn’t. Going to the waters edge he looked down at his reflection. Dipping a paw in slowly to the water that for so long had controlled him with fear. You are at rest now. I miss you every day, but I can’t stay scared of this river forever, not when it is the life of our clan” he murmured to himself. He was aware of his clanmates nearby ish and while he preferred them not to hear this he didn’t mind if they did.

He took a deep breath and jumped into the water! He fought back the initial panic and instinctively resurfaced and swam again. He hadn’t done this in ages but he was doing just fine. A bit slow perhaps for a riverclan cat but he had no problem keeping his head above water as he swam around forcing himself to get used to this again.

Then sounds of a fight were breaking out as hisses rang out and a call of snakes! Pawing like a mad man back towards shore he scrambled up the bank soaking wet and slipping a bit on the stones as he ran towards the fight.

Sprucebark took his turn as just getting over here. He will not be able to actually attack this turn but has reached the fight as reinforcement
