A warm day at sunningrocks

It was a lovely day. The sun shined bright without a cloud in the sky. Shimmerpaw lay, resting on a warm rock at sunningrocks, soaking up the sunlight. It was so relaxing. Before, she had been swimming and fishing, this was a good way to dry off. The fish that she had caught were burried near the bank of the river, along with one frog. Nobody could disturb her peacfulness...or so she thought. Something rustled in the reeds by the river. "Who's there?" Asked Shimmerpaw, worried. Hopefully it wasn't an intruder, or a big animal that might try to kill her.

"Woah, woah," a voice from the reeds spoke up as Ryefur pulled himself out of them, a small grin on his face as he stared at the apprentice. "It's just me," he spoke calmly as he hopped onto the rocks along side his Clanmate, flicking his tail as he sat down. "I just thought I would take some time to relax in the sun."

Shimmerpaw sighed in relief once she saw who it was. She moved over a little to give Ryefur some room. "I'm glad it's you and not some old badger or a mouse-brained Thunderclan cat trespassing on our territory," She said as she stretched out her sore muscles. "So..." She said awkwardly, not knowing what to talk about. "What's it like being a warrior?" Shimmerpaw was curious and she wanted to know, because of course, she would become one sometime to.

Ryefur chuckled softly as he glanced at Shimmerpaw, but he paused as she asked what he thought of being warrior. That question made him pause as he titled his head slightly, pondering on his answer. "It isn't what I thought it would be. It isn't very unlike being an apprentice; hunting and doing patrols but I suppose you get more freedom but you are expected to be all grown-up; you have to act like you know everything for the younger cats cause they expect you to know it all; even thought sometime we are as clueless as kits."

Shimmerpaw didn't want to grow up. She just wanted to lay on the sunningrocks and relax. But warriorship was a pretty long way away, so she had enough time to still be childish. "Ryefur, can you show me some battle moves? My mentor has been busy lately, so I didn't have time to learn some. I know some basic moves, but can you teach me some more?" Shimmerpaw asked, wanting to take advantage of this free time she had with a warrior.

Shimmerpaw's request took Ryefur from surprise.He titled his head slightly as he stared at her but he soon shook his head with a laugh. "I suppose I could, Shimmerpaw. Any certain moves you want to learn?" he asked as he got to his paw.

Shimmerpaw thought for a brief moment. "Hmm...could you teach me leap-and-hold? You could show me it on a cat-sized rock!" Shimmerpaw thought that this move would come in handy sometime, so she wanted to learn it. She had of course seen it be done a couple times, but she didn't know how to do it.
