Quickpaw had decided she needed more hunting practice, her first time hunting she failed miserably. She did get to catch prey at the help of Nectarflower. It didn’t feel right not doing it herself. She also needed to learn to catch things that weren’t rabbits. Such as birds, frogs, lizards. So with that mindset she singled with her tail that she was going hunting. If somecat wanted to come along, sure. No use wasting energy yelling to the clan if no one wanted to.
Quickpaw was remembering what Nectarflower taught her, the hunting crouch. She tried to mimic Nectarflower's from memory, but something felt off. She definitely did it wrong it felt awkward, she tried shifting her legs a bit. That was a position she could hold more awhile. With that out of the way time to target the first prey on the to-catch list, a frog. She quickly spotted one due to the noise they made. She quickly stalked up to it, making use of of her ability to go fast. Luckily it hadn’t noticed her so far. Now she needed even more luck as to catch it. Not knowing how she just quickly pounced where it was.
Quickpaw attempted to catch a Frog costing 3 SP and… Success!
Well, now she could be the luckiest WindClan cat, or a ShadowClan cat. Catching her first frog successfully, failing to catch her first rabbit. Not to mention the satisfaction of catching frogs as well.

Sleepyhollow followed after the patrol, her tail swishing in the heat - she could scent the change in the season in the air as they made their way onto the moors. She veered off to the side as Quickpaw advanced on a frog. The warrior snorted, a frog was an interesting choice. She scented the air finding a rabbit near by and in seconds she found her target. The small brown thing was chewing at a tuft of heather unaware of the predator nearing it.
The calico shot out of cover, her long limbs allowing her to fly across the moor, before the rabbit was conscious of her presence, her sharp teeth had pierced its throat and she shook it until she knew it had passed. She gave a quick thanks to Starclan, buried it, and met up with Quickpaw just in time to see the apprentice catch the frog. "Fuzzface might fight you for that." she purred offering an amused smile as she thought of her food connoisseur brother.
Sleepy is attempting to catch a rabbit...success!

Quickpaw glanced behind her, it seemed Sleepyhollow had decided to follow her. She hadn’t really interacted with the warrior, but then again she was still at the age of an apprentice where she still hadn’t interacted with warriors much. After she had caught the frog she noticed Sleepyhollow, safe to assume she hunted a rabbit being successful too, judging by Sleepyhollow's scent. “You catch yours?” while it was safe to assume it was a success better safe than sorry, but then again this was a warrior of WindClan she was looking at.
Quickpaw let out a slight laugh at Sleepyhollow's words, while she didn’t really know Fuzzface, from Sleepyhollow's tone that might actually be true. So, then she could picture Fuzzface with that personality. Then of course something had to ruin the moment a bug, big as her paw flew up onto her nose. Then it was flying around her face, the nerve of this bug. Of course it was hot so bugs were bound to come out, but it was still annoying. So, with bugs being annoying, and one flying right in her face. She swatted at it.
Quickpaw attempted to catch a bug costing 3SP and Rolling… Success!
She had swatted at it, somehow she managed to hit it. “You think anyone will eat that?” she said with an amused tone but hoping no one would, then she thought of Fuzzface. Might as well burry it.

When he spotted his daughter padding out of camp, Sootstorm couldn't help but curiously follow Quickpaw. He watched from the side as Sleepyhollow and Quickpaw hunted their own prey. He hadn't realized that Quickpaw could hunt so well already. With a pang of guilt, Sootstorm realized that in his attempt to take care of his dieing mate and kits he had forgotten to care for his live ones. With a determined step forward, Sootstorm padded up to the white she-cat. "If Fuzzface doesn't want it, I'd love the bug too," He purred, booping Quickpaw gently on the nose. He blinked in surprise as he realized that his daughter had already grown to his shoulder. It seemed just yesterday that she had been nothing more than a ball of fur that he could move around with one paw.
With yet another pang of guilt, Sootstorm realized that he barely had any memory of those times either. For all the time he gave to his kits, he had never really paid attention to them in particular. He was so determined to keep Ferntwist alive that he forgot the very reason that she even passed. It was for these precious kits. The dappled tom took a step back, tail twitching nervously. "Want to catch something with me? Has Nectarflower taught you group hunting yet?" Sootstorm asked nervously. He had no idea how to act around his kits now, but he could at least try, right?
Quickpaw was delighted to have a face of comfort around, that being her father of course. She hadn’t realized she had already, it was surprising to her. At this rate should would be a warrior in no time! She almost let out a laugh at Sootstorm response, then she realized it’d be pretty easy to make her laugh wouldn’t it? “Well now I know 2 cats that would eat a bug out of the blue.” She said, amused. As Quickpaw was good at catching details it was surprising to see Sootstorm twitch his tail. It could be nerves or anger. Sootstorm clearly had no reason to be mad at her, so it must be nerves but for what?
Her almost instinctual reaction was to Sootstorm's questions were “Sure!, we kind of started with group hunting because I was pretty bad at hunting.” she said embarrassed. Well, now Sleepyhollow and Sootstorm knew that. Couldn’t catch her first rabbit, but caught her first frog & bug with ease, what was she ShadowClan? She had hoped she achieved her goal of easing Sootstorm nerves surely he would tell her if anything really disturbed him.
"That's fine. Let's try for those two rabbits, shall we?" Sootstorm purred, giving Quickpaw a quick lick on the head. He began getting into position, stalking to the other side of the two rabbits without alerting them. His gaze flickered up to meet his daughter's. Ready? He mouthed. When he was assured that Quickpaw was in position, the tom pushed himself forward. Immediately, the two rabbits scattered, heading straight for Quickpaw. Sootstorm himself quickened his paces, closing in on one of the rabbits. With a final lunge, he threw himself at the rabbit. However, his attention switched to Quickpaw at the last heartbeat. Was she alright? Did she catch the rabbit? His paws landed on empty air, and Sootstorm stumbled ungracefully to a halt. His rabbit had disappeared.
Embarrassment flooded his pelt. "Well, it seems that you might have inherited your hunting skills from me," Sootstorm joked. His heart ached with guilt. He couldn't even hunt a rabbit properly for his clanmate. Was this why Starclan had taken his family?
