A Quick Hunt [solo]

Newleaf fully descending upon the forest meant that prey had become extremely bountiful for the Clan. Everywhere it seemed that the life that had been so scare during her apprenticeship once more crawled about, and that was at least one thing off of their backs. Maplespring had opted to go for a quick hunt, even just to do something with her time. Her paws itched to actually explore her clan's territory, to know every inch of it within her mind.

The scent of rabbit lingered everywhere on the moors. After all, it was the perfect place for the creatures to exist. Soft earth to burrow into, but plenty of space to be able to stretch their long legs. Maplespring related to that feeling quite well, and her bouncy trot carried her towards where the scent was the thickest.

It was rather easy to find the source of the strong scent - a den of them, in which one was hopping their way out. Quick claws and a swift leap took out the unfortunate one in an instant, but an angry, small hiss caught her attention.

The angry hiss was a bit of a shock for the warrior as she spun and saw the weasel. A snarl of her own formed on her maw as she guarded her kill, an angry tail flicking as she watched. It seemed to have an injured paw, already making it a target.

Thankfully, the weasel was rather small, and another swift leap saw her ending the sleak creature's life in a much similar fashion to how she had taken her prey. It'd be a nice snack for the Clan... or at least, offer some nice fur to line a nest with.

Given that she didn't want to push her luck any further, the warrior grabbed her prizes, and headed back to the safety of the camp.
