Pretty gifts for all (open)

A love of flowers had been instilled in the young molly the moment Copperlark had gifted her a daisy. Though it wasn't the same daisy, Shrewpaw kept one tucked behind her ear as a symbol of their bond. Well, that and it truly was a pretty flower. That first flower had filled her with such joy, a joy that she now sought to spread to the rest of her clan. The molly padded around camp with an assortment of flowers with varying colors and shapes held in her jaws. Copperlark had taught her what most of these were called and what meanings they held, but a pretty flower was a pretty flower. Did it really need to mean anything?

Shrewpaw needed a cat to start with, and as she spotted a fellow apprentice the golden molly grinned. Shrewpaw wasted no time in approaching the calico, a molly that she didn't know personally but had heard about through Amberpaw. "Hey Peonypaw!" Shrewpaw meowed around a mouthful of flowers. "Do you wa-" Wait, wasn't it rude to speak with a full mouth? Shrewpaw placed her bundle gently on the ground before continuing. "Want a flower? I've got tons, I'll pick something really pretty for you!"

Peonypaw noticed an appretice come near her and froze. Then she realized the molly had a bunch of flowers and was offering her one. Since her name was based off a flower so was so excited to see all the pretty flowers. "Ooooo sure... W-what kinds...do....umm..you..have." she mewed quietly at the appentice still not knowing her name.  

Lichenwing was dozing at the edge of camp, sprawled out like a shaggy gray throw rug. It was hot, and the tom's long fur did him no favors, so eventually he gave up on trying and rolled to his paws. The overwhelming scent of flowers wafted past, and Lichenwing followed his nose to where Shrewpaw was speaking with Peonypaw.

"What'cha got there?" he purred. "Flowers?"

Blazefang nodded to Lichenwing. “Yep, my second litter seem quite taken with them,” she mewed before joining Shrewpaw. “Nice haul you’ve got there, kiddo,” she purred.

"I've got tons of kinds!" The molly nearly shouted as she began to paw through her bundle. There were a few flowers that hadn't taken the journey well, sporting squashed or even missing petals. Not good, she definitely wouldn't have enough to go around at this point- but there was something special! Shrewpaw gave a trill of excitement as she plucked a near flawless pink flower from the bunch. "This one belongs to you, it's a peony! Super pretty right?" It truly was one of prettiest flowers she had ever seen. Shrewpaw reached forward, placing the flower gently behind Peonypaw's ear just as Copperlark had done before. The golden molly admired the flower as it rested upon the apprentice's head, and stars did it fit her. "It looks really pretty on you! Ya like it?" Shrewpaw's face split in a wide grin, clearly proud of herself. "Copper told me they represent good luck and compassion. Something else too I think, but I can't remember what."

Shrewpaw's ear twitched as another customer approached, and with him was Blazefang! The apprentice's face lit up at the new company. "Yup! Flowers for all! Would you like one too? Betcha I can find one that looks pretty on you!" She didn't bother to ask Blazefang, as a mother it was her duty to accept a flower without question. Shrewpaw was sorting through her treasure trove before another word could be spoken, plucking an absolutely beautiful white flower. Even though she was near the height of a full grown warrior, Shrewpaw still had to motion for Blazefang to dip her head as she placed the flower atop the queen's head. The white flower stood out on the fiery molly, truly an elegant choice! "Lily! Copper says they're for innocence and sweetness, a perfect flower for you mama!"

"Aaand for you?" Shrewpaw admired her canvas for a long while, glancing at the flowers periodically. The color of his fur wasn't anything spectacular, but despite that he was super handsome. Ah! Shrewpaw plucked a final flower for the tom, a light purple flower that looked like it was reaching toward the sky when she had found it. Shrewpaw stood on the tips of her paws to place the flower on the tom, bright eyes shining as she pulled away. "Crocus! Copper had a lot to say about this one so I stopped listening after a while, but she said it symbolizes joy!" A perfect flower for what she wanted to accomplish today, and it looked amazing on him too! The light purple was surprisingly pretty when compared to his grey pelt, at least she thought so. "Do you love it?" Shrewpaw's tail lashed in excitement as she awaited the tom's answer. Should she have asked for his name first? Naah, she could do that later!

Peonypaw loved the new flower on her ear. So this was the flower she was named after, it really was pretty. "I will always have one on me, just like you!" she mewed quietly still in awe at it. 

She had known her apprentice was a little goofy, but it was amusing watching her interact with others with enthusiasm and kindness. Especially with her shy adopted daughter, Peonypaw. Firefly did feel a bit guilty for slacking on trying to be a mother. She just... Didn't know how to be one. But that didn't mean she didn't care for her as her own. "It does suit you perfectly, Peonypaw."

She nodded to Lichenwing who seemed whiskers away from panting like a dog with that long, gray hair of his. She felt a bit sorry for him in this heat. Another not to Blazefang, still unsure how to handle the mixed feelings she had on clanhoppers. Especially ones that kept their previous leaders choice of name. But she would remain civil.

And finally, she gave a nod to Shrewpaw. "Is this a new hobby of yours?"

Blazefang kept a pleasant smile as she accepted the lily, but inside she felt the sting of its meaning. Innocence. Blazefang wasn’t innocent. She hadn’t been since she was younger than Shrewpaw, when she witnessed the murder of two queens. The kits of one had been right there begging for their mother to be spared, while the other’s kit slept in the nursery, blissfully unaware. But Shrewpaw would never know that. None of her kits neede to know what she’d seen. So Blazefang smiled and held her tongue.
