Subject: Sootpaw's moonstone ceromony Fri May 12, 2023 11:24 pm
Batsong gathered together the needed traveling herbs for the trip that Sootpaw and herself would take now to the moonstone. She went to the apprentice den and got Sootpaw the herbs as she stayed for the most part quiet.
Once the apprentice was ready, she made her way to the stone leading Sootpaw to the place. She explained quietly how it would work and allowed the apprentice to explore the stone more closely where the starclan dream would occur

Sootpaw licked up the herbs and almost at once tried to spit them out. What a bitter taste? Was Batsong sure she had given him the right herbs? Gagging on the taste that remained in his mouth, the tom dutifully followed the medicine cat.

Batsong led the way to the mothermouth cave where the magical stone lay hidden below. She quietly whsipered to the apprentice to let his whiskers guide him along the cave walls as they went. She knew this place well and would be by his side for all of it though.
Once they had gotten past the narrow spot it opened up more into a wide room where the moonlight shone in through a window in the ceiling of the cave opening that shone down on the magical stone lighting it up in a display of great colors.
"ok so you j-just sleep by the stone and a starclan cat will come and visit you" she said quietly letting the apprentice approach

Sootpaw nodded and entered the cave. He held his breath as the moonstone burst into light before him. Was this what a star looked like? The apprentice crouched down before the stone and closed his eyes, letting sleep take him away.

When the apprentice would open his eyes, it would be to very different surroundings than the brightly-lit cave. Closed-in rock walls were placed by wide open moorland, as star-speckled as the night sky was above. A faint breeze blew, warm but not overly so. For a newleaf night, it was tranquil, peaceful.
Movement in the distance heralded that the apprentice was not alone, however. A pale she-cat bounded forward, pawsteps light and soundless against the grass. Her pale fur was marked by pale gray tabby stripes across her face, legs and tail, and her paws were a pristine white despite running through the grass. Starlight shimmered in her opalescent fur, blue eyes sparkling with warmth as she came to a stop in front of Sootpaw.
"Hello, Sootpaw. My name's Swiftspirit. I was a Windclan warrior once, like you'll be soon enough." She mewed. "Some apprentices come here unsure of where they stand, some know exactly what they want advice on. Some just want to hear stories of old, which I guess I can't blame 'em for." The wiry lynx point sat, striped tail curling over her paws. "What'll it be?" The answer, she often found, was a revealing one.
