OoC: Not at Highstones - with the traveling clans.
Burdockroot wasn't sure how to approach Moonstone journeys now... There was no Moonstone. She contemplated it on the walk for a while, before she recalled her time as an early Frostedkit and paw. The Dark Forest visited cats in their dream, so there was no reason why StarClan couldn't. Perhaps this would prove that StarClan was with them or not. The sun was going down now, and Burdockroot weaved through the mass of clans to find the apprentice she was told was ready. "Hawkpaw, it is time for your Moonstone. But I am sure you can tell, there is no Moonstone. You are going to sleep next to me and I will call upon the stars to visit you. I cannot guarentee it will work, but we have no other choice." Her mismatched eyes sought Hawkpaw's gaze while her monotone voice explained the situation.

Beyond the Forest
Hawkpaw’s head swiveled around immediately at the sound of his name, ears twitchy from the amount of noise such a loud group of cats produces. Golden eyes widen a little as Burdockroot addresses him. When they had left the forest, Hawkpaw had resigned himself to either not experiencing a Moonstone at all, or not progressing into warriorhood until they returned to the forest, whenever that would be. It’s a relief to be told otherwise, even if it was only a chance. He wanted to be a warrior more than anything. And besides, he couldn’t allow Silverhawk to get too far ahead of him… He’d get even more unbearably smug.
Tilting his head a little to the side, Hawkpaw said softly, “Alright. Just… fall asleep beside you? Alright.” He hoped it worked. He had his doubts, but he needed to at least try. Rising to his feet, he trailed after Burdockroot to settle beside her for the night. It took him several minutes to actually settle down, the combination of the unfamiliar environment and Hawkpaw’s own mixture of bitter nerves and bated excitement over the possibility of moving forward to warriorhood making it hard to rest. He wondered if Starclan would accept this, he wondered if Starclan would want to speak with him at all, if he was as unwelcome among the stars as his father always claimed he would be. And, in a rush of quiet longing, Hawkpaw wondered if he’d see his mother.
But eventually, curled in on himself, face buried in his own tail, Hawkpaw’s eyes slipped closed, and moments later, his breathing evened out as sleep finally claimed him.

There were some among the stars who had written the Clans off already. There were some who sent cryptic prophecies and dismissive messages. But there were others who watched, who hoped, who feared, who loved. Honeydrop was one of them. The compassionate medicine cat had never been able to stop loving and caring for her family and Clanmates, and that had not ceased with her exile nor her death. So despite the Clans moving far from their home, far from the Moonstone that normally strengthened the bonds enough to speak with the living, Honeydrop insisted upon visiting any apprentices that she could. And one was granted to her. Hawkpaw. Far from the visage of a perfect honorable warrior--unsure how to express his feelings--by all accounts, he was a bit of a mess. But Honeydrop saw him interacting softly with kits, saw his pride in his friends, saw his desire to be part of his Clan. To be loved, to be accepted. And in that, Honeydrop saw her son.
When Hawkpaw began his dream, he would not be alone. The familiarity of ShadowClan camp surrounded him--mossy dens, open marsh around them--but a cat he had never seen before was standing in his path. The she-cat was fully grown, but she was smaller than him. Her pelt was a deep golden color, dappled in a way that made it look as if the sun were constantly shining on her. Deep amber eyes shone with warmth and welcome. And since it was StarClan, she appeared as her youngest, happiest self. No scar lined her throat. Hawkpaw would not know of its absence. It was not like in the case of Whisperear, where solidarity was needed for comfort. Hawkpaw would not mind if she did not stutter and whisper her way through this interaction. "Hello, Hawkpaw," the medicine cat said. Her voice was sweet and gentle. "I am Honeydrop, once a medicine cat of ShadowClan. Welcome to the stars."
