Black paws carried the warrior through camp, leading him toward a single cat. A cat brimming with potential. He was the son of their deputy, a hard working cat that put her all into running Shadowclan to the best of her ability, someone that he could respect. This cat, Batswarm, he was nothing like Leopardsun. A lazy, narcissistic tom that took nothing but himself seriously. Batswarm was the dud of his deputy's litter. It was sad to think about, especially since he had Harriertalon hovering around him most of the time. Despite the she-cat's constant presence, none of her selflessness had rubbed off on the young warrior. Her guidance was wasted on him. "Spar." Sablestrike meowed curtly. If it wouldn't result in a punishment, Sablestrike would have started the spar without a single word exchanged between the two.

If Batswarm had rolled his eyes any harder, they would have gotten stuck in the back of his skull. Sablestrike was... Scary. Not that he would be able to get away with beating him up if he refused, but the fear of the older warrior attacking outright for his rejection of such a short, rude, and direct order may result in Batswarms pelt in worse shape than if he quietly accepted it. So he did.

Padding far behind and deliberately slow, he followed the miserable tom.

Sablestrike lead the two just outside of camp. He was aware of the warrior's slow approach, something that provided the tom with enough time to angle himself toward the thorn tunnel, a paw slowly sinking into the shallow mud below. Sablestrike waited until the white fur of his fellow warrior appeared at the mouth of the tunnel. That whiteness was a target for the tom, and before Batswarm had fully emerged, the black tom's paw shot out of the ground, a glob of mud sent straight for Batswarm's face. "You took too long," He meowed. "so I decided not to let you have the first strike." It had never been his intention to let the other warrior get the first hit in, but he wanted to let Batswarm know that his lazy pace wouldn't go unpunished.

Just as his head had emerged from the thorn tunnel of ShadowClan's front door, Batswarm was met with a thick wall of goopy mud.

Ah. What a miserable place this was.

There was a long silence as Batswarm stood with a wide stance, the mud that Sablestrike had so graciously gifted him, slowly dripping off his beautiful face and back onto the earth. As the mud cleared his eyes, Batswarm was clearing giving the ebony-furred warrior the nastiest glare possible. Good to know that appearances were all just jokes to not only Moondancer, but to this freak as well. Not letting him hit first? "You're a real piece of work. No wonder no one else wants to spar with you." He had no idea if this was true, but he didn't care.

His gorgeously groomed diluted calico fur was RUINED in just mere seconds. If Sablestrike dropped dead here and now, he wouldn't shed a tear! Annoyance welled up in his chest as the mudslap replayed in his head. Shaking his fur out, Batswarm lunged at Sablestrike head first.

Batswarm used Headbutt, dealing 7 damage and costing 5 SP.
