It was nearing Sunhigh, and the weather was seasonal and mild - a good day for a hunt. A light breeze ruffled Sunfire's fur as he moved towards the creek with the rest of the patrol on his heels. The warming weather meant the creek no longer risked freezing over on frigid nights, and that the prey would run better now that the watering hole was more reliable. Sunfire preferred being here in the night time, when it was more quiet, more peaceful, but it was a good place to hunt even during the daytime... and the growing clan needed to be fed.
Flaring his nostrils, the young tom slowed to a halt, sweeping his gaze over the landscape in search of a good direction to break off on his own. A flash of silver in his peripheral drew Sunfire's gaze, and yellow eyes settled on a coat that was still foreign to him even though it seemed to be infuriatingly omnipresent. His lip curled instinctively as Silverwing moved further into his view, and he suddenly decided that he wanted to go in whichever direction she seemed to be favoring. Following her gaze, he calculated a path and then moved to intercept her. His shoulder knocked into Silverwing's as they met, with the intent to make her stumble, and Sunfire snapped his head around, baring his teeth and saying in a voice low enough that the rest of the patrol probably wouldn't hear him. "Watch it, WindClanner. Some of us are actually intend to take prey home today... try not to scare it all off."
He'd been in a bad mood for days... ever since Birdstar had allowed Silverwing to "join" SkyClan. And it was just his luck, they'd been assigned the same patrol today. Odds were, Silverwing probably wouldn't be as bad a hunter as he was making it out to seem, but he didn't like this WindClan cat. He didn't want her here. And if his rudeness made that abundantly clear, well... that was the point, wasn't it? Sunfire was loyal to SkyClan, and would kill for any member of his clan... but despite what Birdstar intended, the "because I said so" wasn't good enough for him. Her word didn't make Silverwing a SkyClan cat.

Falconmoon had mixed feelings on the Windclanner himself. He had no real reason to hate Windclan, the opposite really, but the others in his clan sure seemed hostile. He'd been surprised by Sunfire's outburst before, and the golden striped tabby hunting expertly in the branches above absolutely didn't miss his brother shouldering Silverwing. Falconmoon's ears flattened to his head as he watched from above, but he made no noise or words with his mouth.
What has gotten into you, brother? He thought quietly to himself. Though he felt sympathy for the Windclanner, he wasn't about to defend her either. Maybe this was a test she needed to pass on her own. Besides, he'd rather not cause any division between him and Sunfire over an outsider that may end up leaving anyway. He wouldn't blame her if she did.
A bird flittered across a branch within leaping distance of him. It was so preoccupied by the cats below, it never thought to look around for any others. Big mistake. Falconmoon leaped, careful to make sure his paws would land on a branch if he missed.
Falconmoon attempted to catch a bird. He was SUCCESSFUL! -3SP
He caught the bird by the back of the head in his jaws and dispatched it before it had time to even peep. Falconmoon stuffed the bird into a hollow, small enough to accomadate the bird and a few acorns, then went back to watching Sunfire and Silverwing from above. What was the newest Skyclan member going to do?

Stoneheart was wary of the newcomer to their patrol as well, though she wasn't about to stoop to Sunfire's rudeness about it. As long as Silverwing did what she was supposed to and didn't cause problems, the rest of the clan would probably settle down... Though Stoneheart understood the natural dislike of the newcomer. Just because Birdstar had said so, did not make her a Skyclanner. Not yet, at least.
The weather was pleasant and that meant prey should be plentiful, and this was a hunting patrol. She glanced briefly at Sunfire and Silverwing, before heading off to find prey of her own as Falconmoon was doing. Spotting a bird, the muscular she-cat made her way through the trees in silence. The bird stood no chance as Stoneheart's paw cut off an attempt at escape, and the warrior made her way back toward her clanmates. Sunfire had cut off the newcomer, and Stoneheart let out a quiet huff. This was a hunting patrol... There were better things to focus on than whatever petty squabble this was.
"If you two are done, there's plenty of prey to be caught." She commented dryly. "Good catch, Falconmoon." She added, tone just a little pointed.
Stoneheart attempted to catch a bird for -3 sp. Catch was successful. 113 / 120 sp

This was the perfect chance to show off her skills to her new clanmates! Silverwing had been Windclan's self-proclaimed best hunter, only failing to catch her target once in her entire life. Not even the mice that populated her barn had stood a chance. She was more than happy to join this patrol and prove her abilities. As they approached the area they would be hunting at however, all thoughts of hunting left the she-cat's head. Silverwing's eyes grew wide as she marveled at the beauty in front of her. There weren't any sights like this in Windclan! Well, unless you counted the gorge, but that was more scary than anything else. Comparing this place to the gorge feels like a crime! I co- A sudden collision nearly knocked the distracted she-cat off her paws, earning some angry words from her patrol mate.
"Sorry! I really need to watch where I'm going." She whispered back. Fighting back the urge to correct the tom was hard, but there were more important things to say and do right now. Still in a hushed tone, Silverwing continued. "I was the best hunter in all of Windclan, if I walk away with nothing today I'd be pretty shocked!" Silverwing's attention shifted to the two above as one of them spoke. Stars! Those two had already caught something? Idea! The first smile of the patrol pierced the she-cat's face. "Bet I can catch more prey than all of you, let's make a game of it!"" Silverwing didn't stick around to hear her clanmate's answers, there was prey to catch!
Silverwing stalked through the trees, eyes searching for any signs of movement. She usually hunted by rushing her prey down, but something told her that wouldn't be very effective out here. There were too many trees to worry about, it would be impossible to stay at top speed and avoid running into anything. I've gotta be more sneaky about it, like forest cats. Motion caught Silverwing's eye, any ideas of stealth leaving her head immediately as she began bolting at it. The noise she made in her sprint had alerted the prey. The squirrel leapt to the tree, beginning its ascent just as Silverwing herself slammed into the tree, her teeth embedding themselves in its back before it could get out of reach. Ripping the rodent from the tree, Silverwing used a singular claw to stop the prey's struggle before making her way back to the patrol, head held high to show off her first piece of Skyclan prey to her clanmates.

Ambersun was still a little concerned about Silverwing's loyalty, but she was willing to put it off for now. At the very least, she trusted Birdstar's judgement, and that the SkyClan leader understood the weight of what she chose to do.
“To be a leader, you have to make hard decisions daily.”
It didn't make Silverwing feel like her clanmate or anything, but that would come in time, as long as her loyalties lay with SkyClan now.
As Sunfire seemed to intentionally bump into the newcomer, Ambersun let out an annoyed huff. "We get it, you hate her, Sunfire," the ginger she-cat scoffed, before Silverwing's offer piqued her interest. "A game? Sounds like fun. I'm in." As Silverwing dashed away from the patrol to find her first piece of prey, Ambersun did the same, searching for any nearby prey animals to try and catch unaware.
Noticing a bird pecking at the ground, Ambersun quickly crouched into her hunter's crouch, quickly beginning to stalk it. Being careful to not snap any branches, the young she-cat eventually got close enough to attempt a pounce. The bird tried to fly away, but the ginger she-cat caught its wings in her paws, before nipping it at its neck to bring it back to the patrol. As she padded back to the patrol, she noticed Silverwing carrying a squirrel in her mouth. "Impressive," Ambersun replied, dropping the bird she caught on the ground, "but I'm not gonna let you beat me that easily!" This was the most fun that Ambersun had hunting in moons, so she ended up warming up to the newcomer much faster than she thought.

Juniperheart wasn’t exactly sure how to feel about this entire situation. Usually she had her mind set on something pretty easily, but when it came to Silverwing’s arrival in SkyClan… it wasn’t that simple. Sunfire, as much as it irked her, voiced more reason than she was willing to admit— Juniperheart wanted to trust Birdstar’s decision, wanted to trust Silverwing, but something held her back every time. Juniperheart wasn’t true SkyClan blood either, she should at least empathize with the molly in some way, but there was a stark difference between joining a clan as a kit and as a warrior, at least in Juniperheart’s mind. The molly worked her entire upbringing to prove herself to her clan, show how utterly devoted she was to her new family… Silverwing simply appeared.
Silverwing wasn’t SkyClan. Not until she proved herself at least.
The ragdoll molly felt like she needed to distance herself in some way from Silverwing, trailing along behind Sunfire with a deliberate slowness in her gait. Juniperheart wasn’t afraid of her or anything— of course she wasn’t, she was a powerful SkyClanner— but there needed to be some barriers put up somewhere, at least to keep Juniperheart’s opinions away from the grey stranger (as opinionated as she could be, Juniperheart was terrified of hurting anyone’s feelings). Or, maybe, a barrier so Juniperheart could reign in Sunfire to be at least somewhat respectful. ”Quiet, you.” she hissed under her breath, giving a brief swat at the ginger tom’s shoulder.
Juniperheart liked Silverwing’s positive attitude, but wasn’t charmed by the idea of turning this hunting patrol into a game. This was a very serious hunting patrol, organized to keep their clanmate’s bellies full, and certainly not something to take lightly. They weren’t apprentices.
Juniperheart shook her head and turned away from the group, trying to focus on looking for some prey to catch. Hee eyes quickly fell upon a passing mouse; it seemed unperturbed by the ruckus coming from her companions as it rummaged through the undergrowth for seeds.
Juniperheart attempts to catch a mouse. She rolls a predator, naturally.
It was pretty difficult to focus, and the mouse slipped away. Ambersun and Silverwing were competing as the latter had proposed, a little too loud for Juniperheart’s liking— it was irritating, all of the noise, but the molly couldn’t help but feel glad that at least someone was showing some openness to Silverwing. Not that she deserved it or anything.
