Fawnshine

With all the trips she had taken apprentices to the Moonstone recently, Fawnshine realized she was starting to run low on herbs. Their clan was experiencing a large increase in the number of apprentices, and while that was a good thing, that meant having to collect resources more often — a task that needed to be done with care. And so, she had asked for her clanmates' assistance, taking appreciation in whoever was willing to offer a paw of help.

Standing by the exit of the camp, she turned around to look at the cats before her, taking a moment to ensure those whom she had called on were present. "As I've spoken before, the medicine cat is running out of herbs lately, and it would be much appreciated if you were to come with me to collect more. If you all are ready, we can go now."

❖ Briarrose had been one of the first volunteers when Fawnshine had requested assistance to gather herbs. With the influx of apprentices recently, the poor medicine cat needed all the help she could get. Briar was always more than happy to give that assistance. She loved her duties and it always felt good helping others. Despite that, she rarely went on herb-gathering patrols so this was a special treat. She had always been interested in learning about herbs and this was a good way to fuel that interest. ღ

❖ She dipped her head at the medicine cat. "I am always willing and able to help." She turned to look at the others gathered there before turning to address Fawnshine, "I am ready but I do not mind waiting a bit longer for those who still require some more time." She wrapped her tail neatly around her paws. ღ

As the scar on her face was being to heal, and numbness slowly going away, Firepaw was eager to be out of camp. "I'd like to join in, if you'll allow it, Fawnshine." Thankful for the medicine cats assistance, she would gladly help out. She nodded to Briarrose in greeting.

"Of course. Some extra paws are always much appreciated," Fawnshine nodded to Firepaw, a pleased smile spreading across her maw. Her eyes flicked back to her clanmates, and once she thought they had enough volunteers, began her way out of camp and towards the familiar territory of ThunderClan.

Fawnshine was extra careful in the process of leading them to Snakerocks. While it was a great spot for herb hunting, another sense of danger lurked around the corners — snakes; as infamous as their reputation was from the name of the place. Assuming that her clanmates have been here before, she knew they would be cautious, but it was better to warn them, still. "Be careful. Snakerocks have its name for a reason. Do not risk collecting herbs if you spot signs of them around." Looking back to Briarrose and Firepaw, she nodded, making sure they heard her before speaking again. "We'll need chamomile, burnet, daisy leaves, and sorrel. If there is an herb you are unsure of, please ask me."

With that, she turned around and began finding herbs of her own. It didn't take long before she was able to find sorrel by the corner, and Fawnshine nipped a few leaves off the plant, carrying it in her jaws as she continued to look for more.

1: Nothing is found, better luck next time (or you can also have your character find deadly herbs)
2-3: Useful everyday herb (Borage, Burnet, Chamomile, Daisy)
4-5: Good herb (Chervil, Comfrey, Feverfew, Juniper, Lavender, Sorrel)
6: Great herb (Chickweed, Chicory Root, Coltsfoot, Tansy)

❖ Briarrose returned the nod of greeting from Firepaw when the apprentice had arrived to join. She was feeling proud of her younger sister. More apprentices needed to offer their help around. Any experience gained was good; apprentices needed as much as they could get so they'll be more than ready when it was their time to take the next big leap in their life. ღ

❖ The torbie she-cat quickly followed behind the medicine cat as Fawnshine led them out of the camp. Snakerocks was their destination it seemed. The warrior recognized the direction they were taking. She had heard that it was one of the best places to hunt herbs so it was understandable. She appreciated the extra caution the medicine cat was using when traversing around the area. It was known to be a high-risk region of Thunderclan's territory with the many crevices that may house adders and on occasion, badgers. ღ

❖ When the group stopped, Briarrose listened attentively to what Fawnshine was explaining. She dipped her head to indicate that she had understood the assignment. Chamomile, Burnet, Daisy leaves, and Sorrel. Okay, she can memorize that easily. Before the warrior separated from them, she turned to Firepaw, "I will be nearby. Call if anything occurs." She offered a small smile and a nod before finally walking in the opposite direction from where Fawnshine had been heading to. Firepaw was smart. She trusted her sister to take care of herself. She just wanted her to know that Briarrose will be there for anything she may need. ღ

❖ She sighed when she had no luck in her search. Perhaps it was time to migrate somewhere else. She didn't want to waste any more time sniffing around in an area that was proving fruitless. She hoped to have better luck somewhere else. ღ

"Chamomile, burnet, daisy leaves, and sorrel... Chamomile, burnet, daisy leaves, and sorrel..." The scarred apprentice repeated Fawnshine's words over and over, trying not to forget them. Her time spent in the medicine den would prove useful here.

Carefully eyeing every crack and crevice of the venomous Snakerocks, Firepaw spotting the herbs that didn't look like chamomile, burnet, daisy leaves, or sorrel. "Fawnshine? I've found something!"
