Minksplash paced about in agitation around the nest. She wanted something, anything other than the dried pellets that seemed to be left in random piles about the overrun nest. She'd eaten them out of desperation, but that didn't make up for how absolutely horrendous they tasted. She had taken her time to figure out just what all existed around the insane trap of cats, and to her pleasant surprise, she'd figured out there were a couple of mice that had taken to the walls and found shelter inside of them. Especially given the cold, she couldn't blame the tiny creatures, but it meant she had a great excuse for hunting and eating something other than those cursed pellets.

Sniffing around, the warrior did her best to scope out just where one of the little furry creatures might have been hiding. It led her to one of the foul corners of the room, and her senses went on full alert as she heard the tiny creature squeaking about. Her paws darted out in a quick attempt to catch the mouse, and she hoped that she'd be able to catch it... Yes! To her delight, she pulled the creature right out from its hidey-hole, nipping at its neck swiftly to end its life. Oh, she was going to enjoy this meal. A look of triumph registered all over the russet molly's face, and she picked up her catch to trot happily back to the perch she'd typically taken.

Loner

The twolegs seemed to like him. His fur nearly shined like a kittypet’s, but he made sure to clean it with his tongue often enough to scruff it up again. Though the food was gross, it kept him good and fed which was all he could ask for. He couldn’t say he was treated unkindly. For whatever reason, they tried to put one of those kittypet collars on him like everyone else cooped up in this twoleg den, but after a few insistent torn collars, the tom had been given something more to his liking. A beautiful forest green bandana the exact shade of his eyes. Though a mark of a cat tempered with twolegs, he secretly adored the adornment.

His sister had escaped, to his relief, so he wasn’t too worried about her. She’d find Pipsqueak or Sunflower, he knew it. Though his instinct was to care for her, he needed to give his little sister more credit. As for himself, he knew another opportunity would come by at some point. Meantime, his one task was to simply keep himself preoccupied. And with so many interesting strangers denning alongside him, he knew he was set for entertainment. The tom was already curious enough to approach the strange-smelling cats. Warriors, he heard them call each other. The loner wished to know more about them and what they meant by that.

Out of all the cats, there was one that gained his attention the most. A molly near the corner of the room stalking something. She’s hunting, he realized with excitement, And I thought there wasn’t anything in here? He slowly rose from his perch, watching the molly carefully. The way she stalked… It was as intriguing as the fact she found prey in a lifeless den.

“Nice catch,” he remarked with a polite dip of his head, “Where’d you learn to hunt, if I may ask?”
