time to work, time to play [open!]

Nightstalker fell silent as both of the she-cats reconciled, and the young tom could barely hold his sigh of relief. "Well, with this resolved, I will be taking my leave. I am very tired and I've got uh... deputy things to do." Like going to bed. I'm turning in early, dear Starclan I am exhausted. Getting to his paws, Nightstalker turned away, barely stifling his yawn as he left the two she-cats to continue chatting if they wished. He wasn't going to babysit them when their situation seemed to have resolved itself.

"Enjoy those deputy things! See you when you wake up!"

Roseburn couldn't stifle the laughter that emerged as Nightburn made up an excuse to leave. Did he really think he could fool his little sister? Because that failed, clearly. She turned back to Nightpaw, a smile on her face, as though she had always been in this good mood.

"Hey, you wanna go hunting? We can get to know the real versions of each other."

Nightpaw couldn't help but join in the laughter (what were deputy things, exactly?), and smiled back at Roseburn. There was a sort of relief, with the tension mostly resolved, and the lack of a need to play at being perfect. Maybe she wasn't ThunderClan, but it seemed that Roseburn could at least understand her on some level. "...Yeah, that actually sounds fun. We can definitely do that."
