It seemed leadership was taking a much harder strain on her mate than she had anticipated. As such, Mottlerose yet again found herself on the highrock. This time, it would be yet again for one of her own apprentices, one that had shown quite a bit of tenacity. Beetlepaw. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

Beetlepaw walked toward the Highrock with slow, measured steps, her head held high and an excited gleam in her eyes. Though she'd been worried that the incident with Shadekit would delay her warrior ceremony, that was thankfully not the case. She was only sorry she'd gotten caught, and she'd certainly learned from the unfortunate event, the lesson being to leave the loud-mouthed kit in camp next time.

Once again, she stared enviously at the cat perched atop the Highrock, a position Beetlepaw coveted, hoping to gain it for herself someday. Finally, she was becoming a warrior, one step closer to her goals. Admittedly, she wasn't quite sure what she would do with the power once she obtained it, but she was looking forward to it nonetheless. Despite her tendency to put up false pretenses, there was nothing artificial about the gleam in the calico she-cat's eyes as she looked up at her soon-to-be former mentor.

The appearance of her apprentice was one that was easy to spot. Mottlerose had recognized the ambition that seemed to be exuded all over the young she-cat's face, and the deputy hoped it would be something she could reign in. Thoughts of Softfall flashed through her mind momentarily, but a slight shake of her head dismissed them. Now wasn't the time to worry about what could happen, it was to celebrate what was happening.

"Beetlepaw, step forwards." Her voice commanded. Just as she had watched her mate blossom into the role, she found herself much more comfortable atop the Highrock. "It is time for you to become a warrior. Do you promise to continue uphold the warrior code and protect your clan, even at the cost of your life?" Her amber gaze almost had a twinge of scrutiny in it as she looked at her apprentice. Her standards had only seemed to raise higher and higher for the apprentice, to which she met them each and every time.

"I promise." There wasn't an ounce of hesitation as Beetlepaw replied, her voice coming out clear and strong. Truthfully, she'd say whatever she had to in order to keep the ceremony moving. Whether or not she truly respected the warrior code had yet to be determined, especially since the so-called code in question had yet to serve her in any way. Besides, she knew she could find ways of... getting around it, if need be.

Mottlerose looked at her apprentice very carefully as the answer came from the younger molly rather quickly. Something about it made her slightly suspicious... but she assumed the best. Perhaps it was just excitement.

"Then by the powers of Starclan, you shall now be known as Beetleshade. Thunderclan recognizes your ambition and dedication. Tonight, you will sit in silent vigil, guarding your clan as we sleep. Congratulations." She placed slight emphasis on the word ambition - but it was still a time to celebrate. She dipped her head, leaping off the Highrock to join in celebrations of the new warrior.
