softpaw's warrior ceremony

The need to bolster their ranks was something that couldn't be overlooked. Softpaw was not the top candidate for such a promotion but after their last conversation, Stoatstar was giving him a chance to prove himself, to dedicate himself to the live of a warrior. He felt as if eyes burned into his coat as he leaped onto the highrock and they probably were. Once there, he settled back on his haunches and shoving away any self-conscious feelings, "Let all cat gather for a clan meeting."

Softpaw was quick to respond to the call and padded out of the apprentice den to sit at the base of the Highrock.  He tilted his head looking up at his father figure and leader. He felt the smallest amount of guilt on his conciosience for what he did at the gathering but he quickly brushed that aside. He was a Thunderclan cat! and He did what was needed done to ensure that Thunderclan would overtake Riverclan once more.

He sat proudly flicking his tail back and forth awaiting whatever news may come of this.

"Softpaw, come forward." The little leader beckoned the tom forward with a flicker of his tail. Eyes sought out the apprentice's, looking into the depths, trying to find what he was looking for. Stoatstar quickly resigned to continuing on. He hoped the rogue-born kit would feel the gravity of the circumstances and what he needed from the clan's warrior. Every ounce of him longed to see Softpaw thrive and on the right path, and so he continued, a silent prayer to whatever forces might be at work now, "You are ready to become a warrior. Do you vow to give yourself to the clan, and follow the code, no matter the cost?" With baited breath, he waited for the reply.

Softpaw nodded with eagerness and excitment. He loved thunderclan. As twisted as he sometimes was the true intentions of all his actions were to "help" thunderclan in whatever means needed. His views of helping thunderclan were just a bit more.... extreme than others


He nodded and confirmed "I promise" he confirmed

"Then from now on, you will be known as Softfall. I welcome you as a full warrior of Thunderclan. Tonight, you will sit vigil as the clan sleeps. I look forward to seeing what you do as a warrior." He meant it, gaze boring into the new warrior's pelt for a moment before leaping down from the highrock. Stoatstar briefly cheered before padding away.

Softfall grinned having earned his new name he gave a nod to stoat and later that day he did his vigil keeping watch over the clan that night

Mottlerose had watched from the back of the crowd this time, instead of more towards the front. Her maw twinged in congratulations towards the new warrior. Despite the tom having been an apprentice for a longer time than her, she had earned her name first. Reservation kept the molly from speaking with the voices of the crowd, but she was glad to hear that the Clan would be getting yet another warrior within their ranks.

Appledapple felt far more conflicted during this ceremony than she had during the other one. Reedshine had been a fairly straightforward tom, and even ended up kinder than she had anticipated. However, Softpaw... of all the kits they had raised, he seemed to have the most anger in him. The most darkness that could be unleashed at any moment. From what she had heard from Stoat, there had been a few times it had almost manifested. As far as she knew, he was doing okay. Maybe he could leave the anger behind and live a decent life. Despite her own temper, she wouldn't wish the full-blooded wrath she experienced on anyone else. Hopefully, Softpaw-- Softfall-- would learn better. Would listen to what she had tried to teach. "Softfall! Softfall!" she cheered, letting only a Clanmate's welcome ring in her voice. No conflict would be shown overtly.

"Softfall! Softfall!" Reedshine cheered for his brother's new name. he was starting to get a bit lonely...
