Mottlestar “May the stars light our paths.”
With his name chosen, and hearts laid bare, Mottlestar delivered upon her promise. It was time for an apprentice who more than deserved his name to join their ranks of warriors. Giving her son one more affectionate lick between his ears, the small molly lept upon the highrock. His ceremony would certainly be made much easier without having to deal with the typical pondering of a name, and if anything, was one that was a bit overdue. Stepping to the front, where the rock had been smoothed by the many paws standing before her, she called.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

The day that most apprentices anticipated to come finally came to greet him, and for once, he wasn't as much of an anxious mess in this decision as he thought he might've been. He was one of the few in the litter that was a bit late behind to become a warrior, but that didn't mean he was any less deserving of being given a new name. In fact, it was one that he had chosen himself. A legacy name, his mother have said. Still, the anticipation that built up as he gathered up in between his clanmates in wait for Mottlestar's official announcements pounded in his chest. Once enough of the clan had gathered, Mottlestar saw no reason to tarry further. She locked eyes with her son, giving him a slight nod of her head. It was, in a unique way, a way for the leader to ground herself. She still had to answer for what had happened at the gathering, and she could see how some would assume this was about that. "Thunderclan, I know tensions still feel thick from the Gathering, and I promise to you all that I will be answering Batsong's claims soon. But that is not what this call is about. Today, there is an apprentice who has been long overdue his name. Thrushpaw, step forward." She called, focusing on him, only him.
"Thrushpaw, I know doubt to your answers. But now that you have trained in the ways of a Thunderclan warrior, do you promise to protect and serve this clan from this day forth, even at the cost of your life?"

At the call of his name, Thrushpaw stepped forward, his head held high in excitement for his upcoming name. His oath to swear to his clan would be the most important one he'd taken yet, though he had no doubt he would hold onto the responsibilities well, as much as he could. So grinning, the tom nodded, his tone of voice clear and firm as he spoke. With his response firm, Mottlestar had no other reason to delay. Looking up towards the sky for just a moment, a wider smile crossed her maw, before she looked back upon her son. "Then by the powers given to me by Starclan, from this day forth, you shall be known as Thrushnose. Thunderclan honors your heart and spirit. Tonight, while the clan sleeps, you shall sit in silent vigil and watch over your Clan. But for now, we celebrate!" Her tone took a much more jovial note the longer she spoke, somehow refraining from tearing up as she called out the name of her past mentor.
"Thunderclan, let us welcome Thrushnose, our newest warrior!"
With her final cry ringing into the camp, she lept down, easily crossing to her son and pressing her nose gently atop his head. "I know she's proud of you, just as I am, Thrushnose."

Thrushnose. That would be his name now, forever and always. One that was passed down to him from comfort, love, trust, and care—something he was not to take for granted, and he never will. Thrushnose let out a warm purr, gratefully accepting Mottlestar's affection as she leaped down to rest her head atop of his. Not being able to help it, a wide grin spread across his maw, chest fluttering with the sense of pride in his newfound name. "Thank you, mom," He nuzzled into her cheek, still smiling broadly.
