Hunting [open]

Outnumbered, wounded, and tired, the dog finally turned tail and fled, much to Snowpaw’s relief. She sat up a little and watched it go, crashing through the bushes. “Probably frightening off all the prey from here to Highstones,” Snowpaw muttered. “So much for hunting.” She tried to get up and winced a bit. She could put weight on her leg, but it hurt a lot.

Things happened pretty quickly from then but the entirety of the patrol joined in the defense of Snowpaw and Murkystar was alerted from nearby too and her aid was much appreciated. At first swiftheart had been pretty nervous taking on a dog by herself but within a minute, the dog was overwhelmed by her clanmates who quickly joined in.


Swiftheart breathed a sigh of relief as the dog ran away. She watched it run making sure it was not trying to tick them or something but once it was clear it had surrendered for good she hurried to Snowpaw's side. She stood close to her letting her lean on her if she needed the extra support. She looked at her leg and it looked sore for sure.

"Dont worry about the hunting... Lets get you to Basilbloom" she meowed softly and caring for her clanmate.

Murkystar watched as the dog fled, keeping an eye on it as it disappeared from sight. Turning to her clanmates, she quickly looked over them. "Swiftheart is right, Snowpaw, you need to get back to camp. All of you, be sure to have your wounds looked at and monitored. I'll follow behind the dog, please ask Frostgaze to send a patrol to follow the scent. We'll force it off the territory for good." She mewed, turning to walk in the same direction of the dog.

Worry rose in Swiftheart even though she tried to not let it. Her mom wanted to follow the dog?? Her memories couldnt help but drift to the day Murkystar had fought with a badger outside of camp.... Murkystar never told her directly but she had deduced that she likely lost a life that day, since she had said she had lost another when they had a conversation after the FO attack... Speaking of the Forgotten order attack... she had watched her mom lose a life that day and she was not eager for her to go out "dog hunting" especially not alone. However, at the same time she realized that Murkystar was the leader and it was her duty to keep the clan safe, it still did not make it easy for Swiftheart to accept.


Sure they could send help from Frostgaze ... but that would take time and she was here now...
With these thoughts in mind she spoke "Mom? Do you want me to come with you?" she asked.

"At least take someone with you?" she pleaded.

The young molly hoped Murkystar would agree but knew she would want Snowpaw safe first... Swiftheart did not envy having to make such decisions as leader she would personally never want to be deputy or leader at all and hoped that responsibility never fell to her, if it did she would do her best but that was not her dream.

Deerleap heaved a sign of relief once the dog ran away with it's tail between it's ears. did it come because it smelled the scent of blood from the racoon? she should've known better to put it in a tree or something. now her best friend was hurt because she didn't decided in time.

"Come on, we'll get you to camp," Deerleap said as she pressed herself against Snowpaw to support her. she glanced over her shoulder. "Icepaw, take the rabbit with you. Murkystar, do you want Forestpaw and Swiftheart to come with you? Should I help?" she asked, hoping the leader would at least take one or two other cats with her.

Murkystar hesitated as Swiftheart spoke up, followed by Deerleap. The dog had already disappeared... Her tail tip flicked before she turned around. "No, you all need to get back to camp. However, I'll wait here for the patrol, so we can all go together." She mewed, compromising.

Deerleap dipped her head and, still supporting Snowpaw, hurried home.

Swiftheart raised a brow at Murkystar... not enterally convinced that she would wait for the patrol that they would send... it would take them awhile to get back, have Frost put a patrol togetehr, and then for that patrol to get all the way out here... by then the dog would be long gone she was sure of it.

Seeing as how Forestpaw and Deerleap were both helping Snow she made a snap decision. She was not about to let this wild dog free without sending it a stronger message... right now it had already hurt snow very badly and if it escaped now it could do who knew how much future damage! She was wanting to put an end to it now before that occurred.

She shook her head "Come on mom... lets hunt some dog!" she said in a low hiss which was not characteristic for her at all really. She was tired of getting bullied around... First the forgoten order... now the Dark forest... nope no more getting beaten and running away this time she would put an end to something before it came back to literally bite them.

She scampered next to Murkystar "Come on if we hurry we can still catch it and I like our odds to be honest" she meowed with her signature warm grin. She waited momentarily before darting off in the direction of the dog!

Swift is in pursuit of dog that hurt Snowpaw!
but if murkystar is really against that decision :( she can call her off, as swift wouldnt really disobey directly.

Murkystar sighed as Swiftheart set off after the dog, shaking her head. "Fine, but I'll draw its attention first while you attack from the back. Understood?"

Deerleap turned over her shoulder to watch the two. she didn't feel comfortable letting just two cats chase after a huge mutt, even if it was wounded. "Forestpaw, Icepaw, accompany Snowpaw back to camp," she ordered, before bounding up to her former mentor.

"You're not going off risking your life for the clan without me!" she declared, amber eyes starring straight into those blue eyes.
