Snowpaw was startled by the raccoon, but ready to fight. After all, she’d helped kill an adder not long after being made an apprentice! Predators were kinda her thing. She nodded quickly in response to Swiftheart and dove for the raccoon’s legs.
Snowpaw used Snap, dealing 6 damage and costing 7 SP. Snowpaw: 20 / 20 hp 53 / 60 SP (-7)
Raccoon 2: 6 / 20 hp (-6) 110 / 120 sp

The second raccoon was not happy at all with the two cats now after it. In an act of desperation it lunged at Swiftheart and bit down into her shoulder with much agressiveness.
Racoon used Iron bite for 17 dmg and 30 sp
The bite hurt alot as Swiftheart let out a little yelp. She struck out with her front paws getting lucky she hit its soft spot between its eyes and it hissed in anger but was too weak to keep up the attack it let go of her and ran off fleeing.
Swiftheart used Front paw Strike forcing the predator away as it has 0 ed out of hp
Watching it flee she did not persue it. The racoon was in no shape to battle or hurt anyone now. They had taught it the lesson needed of not bothering shadowclan and any violence after that was not needed. Swiftheart was not eager to go fighting just for fighting sake but she would to defend herself or her clan. She wouldnt let it hurt snowpaw or anyone else nearby.
Swiftheart 25 / 50 hp 92 / 120 sp (-7 for attack -7 for hunt)
Raccoon 2 -2 hp and has fled the battle no longer able to fight

Swiftheart turned to Snowpaw and nodded in thanks and encouragement. "Well done!" she purred. "That was very brave of you and you handled the unexpected well" she complimented her.
She licked at her sore shoulder but luckily it did not seem to be all that bad. She would be fine to keep looking for food for her clan.
She kept nearby Snowpaw and the rest of the group as she once again looked for any prey to return home with.
She spotted a rodent nearby and hoped this time would go better than what had just happened.
crouching low to the snowy earth she went towards it.
as she got close enough to it she pounced at it ....
To her unluck again the rodent heard her approach at the last second and it got away slipping to its underground safe lair. She sighed but kept her good attitude best she could.

《OOC》 I'm not sure if I did this all right. I read some hunting topics as well as the hunting system guide to hopefully get the gist of it. ❒ Young Forestpaw had been reviewing what he had learned so far regarding hunting. He was still quite the novice but every day, he'd get better the more he practiced. He wanted to make his mentor proud. He wasn't going to let his failures discourage him. If he couldn't catch anything, it was alright. The season was a harsh one and it was difficult for everyone at this time. Even the most experienced warriors barely managed to catch anything.
❒ Having spotted a mouse just beyond his peripheral, the grey-and-white apprentice slowly made a turn toward it instead of continuing on his linear path. He let out a shaky breath—seeing the puff of air was a clear reminder of how cold it was which in turn made him shiver even harder, despite his fluffy coat. Anyway, he was always so tense whenever he had to hunt. There was no particular reason as to why but it was what it was. He had to shove away his nerves as always to even get a chance at pouncing on the rodent. He needed to concentrate.
❒ Spending a few moments fixing his form, the apprentice began to sneak his way over, careful of how heavy his steps were. He held his breath, amber eyes on the prize. He waited for a few beats before he finally leaped. He didn't have high hopes for the catch but he was trying.
❒ He pouted as he watched it slip away. Well. As he said, at least he was trying. The young tom shook his pelt and trudged on, this time taking a different direction.

❒ After some time wandering around, the young tom had no luck in finding any prey. He was about to head back home but stopped himself when he heard a few familiar voices. A smile began to appear on his face as he hurried his steps toward the group. "H-Hey!" he called out so he could get their attention, "Hi guys! Funny seeing you out here. What're you all doing? I-I've been practicing my hunting but haven't had luck with catching anything." He shrugged then proceeded to give them all a chipper smile.

“Hi, Forestpaw,” Snowpaw mewed, greeting the young tom. “We’re on a hunting patrol. Swiftheart and I haven’t caught anything yet, though.” Snowpaw paused suddenly and took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of mouse. She dropped low into a hunting crouch, stalked her prey, and sprang. Instead of catching the mouse though, Snowpaw found herself face to face with a furious, snarling dog! Snowpaw tried to dart away, but yelped in pain as a huge paw came down on her hindquarters. Despite the pain, Snowpaw whipped around and latched her teeth into the paw.
OOC: What is our luck today? And yes this just got INTENSE.
Snowpaw attempted to catch a mouse, using 7 SP. Dog used (is it Heavy Strike? I forget) dealing 17 damage and using 22 SP! Snowpaw used Snap, dealing 6 damage and using 7 SP.
Snowpaw: 3 HP / 33 SP Dog: 94 HP / 178 SP

Swiftheart greeted Forestpaw with a wide grin happy that the apprentice tom had joined them. "Yeah so far we have not gotten lucky at all" she agreed with Snowpaw nodding. Snowpaw had seen something and was stalking towards it. Swiftheart sat watching her approach the mouse. She was doing great so far and Swiftheart was sure the apprentice would snatch up the mouse at this rate.
Then... time slowed down oddly as everything happened so fast and yet she felt like she couldn't move fast enough. A giant dog attacked her. Swiftheart's stomach did flips as she tried to give out a warning but it was too late
"SNOWPAW!!! look out!" she squeeled but the apprentice had already been hit. She raced to her aid as fast as she could not thinking about her own safety at all. Snowpaw needed help now and she would do anything to do that.
she leapt at the dog with claws and tried to get it off snowpaw
Swiftheart used jumping strike for 8+1+3 damage first move and night advantage

Murkystar had gone for a walk, hoping to clear her mind. Nearby yowls interrupted her thoughts, and she quickened her pace to a sprint as she turned in the direction of the yowls. As she reached the Pine Grove, she swiftly took in the situation, hardly slowly down as she leaped into the fray, her claws sinking into a large dog. She recognized her daughter, and an apprentice, and she knew there were others but she hadn't had a chance to fully survey the area... Hopefully this was the only dog.
Murkystar used Jumping Strike, dealing 10 base (+3 First Attack, +2 Star Striker, +1 Night Finesse) damage and costing 7 SP.
Murkystar: 80 HP / 163 SP (-7) Snowpaw: 3 HP / 33 SP Dog: 66 HP (-16) / 178 SP Swiftheart 25 HP/ 85 SP
OOC Note: If you would like, Murky can use Blocking Leap to prevent Snow from going down - just let me know!

The dog was furious at the attack, but thinking clearly as it brought its paw down on Snowpaw again. Snowpaw felt something pop a little in her right hind leg and, fueled by adrenaline, managed to scuttle out of range of the dog before collapsing.

《OOC》 Ah again, please tell me if I've made any mistakes with this! I'm still trying to get how the battle system works. I looked at all your posts and used them as references.
❒ He relaxed a tad more as he walked closer to them. "A-A well, hopefully, we'll get some luck soon. This weather's been really mean to us all," he purred to Snowpaw and Swiftheart. He then looked over to the other two and waved his tail before turning then moving away for a few moments to try and scout out any potential prey.
❒ The young apprentice was shaken from his focus when he heard a horrible growl and Swiftheart screaming Snowpaw's name. He whirled around and what he saw made his blood run cold. There was an ugly brute of a dog that was attacking Snowpaw. He felt himself tremble but he pushed away his growing panic as he watched the warrior jump into action. Then, out of nowhere, Murkystar came rushing in to aid the young molly apprentice. The tom gulped then puffed out his chest. He wasn't going to sit around and let the others handle this. Poor Snowpaw needed all the help she could get!
❒ Before he could get in the fray, the apprentice gasped as the dog brought down one of its large paws upon Snowpaw once more. She barely managed to escape it before she collapsed somewhere further away. "SNOWPAW!" he cried out. The foul dog had hurt one of his denmates! He felt something akin to anger bubble in his chest and before long, he raced toward the snarling beast and with as much force as he could muster, bowled it over with his outstretched paws—the same move he saw being utilized by Swiftheart and Murkystar.

Snowpaw sat hunched over in the snow, assessing the damage. Her right ankle REALLY hurt. She tried to move her leg and winced.

Icepaw had just been about to present her lucky prey to Deerleap when she heard the yowls of cats. The rabbit was immediately forgotten on the ground as she raced back towards Swiftheart and Snowpaw. It felt like her paws could not carry her fast enough when she heard another yowl, this one more pained than before. It made ice run through her veins and her paws pounded the ground harder to pick up speed through the wet snow.
She burst through the thicket to survey the scene before her. There were more than just Swiftheart and Snowpaw now, with Forestpaw and Murkystar there too. But her focus was on their leader for only a moment before they saw the twisted way Snowpaw’s ankle was, and then even more importantly, the dog that still threatened her clanmates. Her heart sank. She had never even seen a dog before, and this snarling beast terrified her to her core. This was no simple raccoon like the one left behind. This was a serious, terrifying adversary.
“Don’t move and stay low!” Icepaw called to Snowpaw before she ran into the thick of the fighting. She leapt at the dog’s ankles and clamped her teeth tightly onto its foreleg. She doesn’t stay on for long, but it was enough to get a little bit of damage in. She scrambled back and watched the dog with wide eyes, not sure what was going to happen next.
Icepaw used Snap, dealing 7 (6+1) damage and costing 7 SP.

Deerleap whipped around to spot Forestpaw. "Hey," she greeted simply, beckoning the tom closer with her tail. she turned to Icepaw. "That was a well-aimed blow! Cicadashriek has been teaching you well! and that was a great catch too! Newleaf really is coming closer," she praised the small apprentice. more than once, the warrior wondered what it would be like to have an apprentice of her own. but this wasn't the time to think about that, as all of a sudden, a huge dog lunged at Snowpaw.
As the rest of the patrol attacked the dog with fierce claws, Deerleap dragged Snowpaw by the scruff to the side so that the she-cat wouldn't get any more damage than she already suffered. she sniffed the younger she-cat's wounds, glad to find that they were quite shallow and Snowpaw was still breathing. giving the open flesh a few licks, Deerleap turned back to the dog.
baring her fangs, Deerleap lunged forward and gripped the waving tail of the dog's and yanked as hard as she could, satisfaction coursing through her when she felt the huge mutt collapse on the ground.
Deerleap used Tail Yank, dealing 8 (+1) dmg and -7SP
