Snake in the Den [Clan Meeting]

Goldenstar and her patrol stalked swiftly into camp, still bloodied and limping from their fight but with triumph radiating from their raised pelts. The leader nodded for her more injured companions to head for the medicine den while she made her way to the Tallrock. There was barely a heartbeat between reaching it and leaping atop it. “WindClan, gather before me! I bring news of invaders on the territory!”

Shrikestorm swiftly followed behind Goldenstar. His wounds stung, but he powered through them. They had chased off the intruders, but there was no time to rest. There was a great threat that had been on their land, and if they wanted to chase them off for good, they needed to strike now.

Batsong shakily got to her paws and limped after her clanmates back to the camp. Everything hurt right now but she tried to not complain. She was glad they had won the battle ... she was so scared of losing her matchup and was grateful for the more experienced senior warriors that had been out with her on the defensive patrol for clutching the win for them.

Wincing as she walked along behind her deputy and leader she sat at the clearing below the tallrock and glanced up at Goldenstar for the meeting to begin. Spotting Lightningpaw she grinned and sat next to her friend from appreniceship

Though Goldenstar has offered her shoulder for him to lean on, Fawnsong still couldn't bring himself to enter the camp like that. It was already bad enough with his bloodied face... he didn't want anyone to see him so defeated. Thus, after leaving Goldenstar side, he limped as fast as he could to the darkness of the medicine cat den. His body quickly disappeared from the surface as he entered the burrow. The ginger tom was exhausted and let his body fall on the only moss bed available. He wanted to sleep and never wake up but... his leader's announcement kept him awake. After what happened... what was the best course of action to take? Warn the other clans? Attack? Prepare for another raid?

Swiftspirit silently stalked into camp along with the rest of her bloody patrolmates, casting a worried glanced at Fawnsong. He had the worst injuries out of the lot of them, but he'd managed to find Dovefrost so hopefully would recover. The rogues had been driven off for now, but Swiftspirit wasn't certain that things would stay that way and the clan would have to keep a lookout and keep their defenses strong in the meantime.

Smallbean steered toward the medicine den after Fawnsong as Goldenstar called the rest of the clan. He knew he should get his wounds treated, but Fawnsong's case was much more severe. He figured he'd wait until after the clan meeting so he didnt overwhelm the medicine cat. Instead of going inside the medicine den, he settled nearby and stayed within earshot of Goldenstar- even though he already knew what this announcement would be about.

Rosepaw's hackles lifted before she recognised it was blood she smelled. Her tufted ears flicked gently to the rustle of the gorse, eyes turning to the patrol returning with fur bristling and bloody. Her tail puffed up. 

She forgot to breathe until she saw her mentor enter into the camp. As Goldenstar called the Clan together, Rosepaw scampered to Batsong with her heart beat thrumming in her paws, sitting on her other side with wide-eyed concern. The young apprentice swiped her tongue over Batsong's shoulder worriedly, purring loud and soothingly. She didn't ask what happened, if everyone was okay, it was obviously very bad with Goldenstar standing up there on the tall rock.

Fawnsong had raced into camp earlier speaking of the invaders, and Mistysky had positioned herself in front of the medicine den, even if there wasn't anyone to protect in there. The place was still important to her, as if Berrypaw was still in there, and if the invaders we're coming to camp she refused to let anyone get inside.

But instead, Goldenstar came back with her patrol, clearly beaten, but there was no threat following them. Instead, the leader called the Clan together. Clearly whatever battle had taken place was over, and Mistysky felt rather irritated at having been left out, but took her seat anyway.

Scorchtalon had been standing in front of the nursery, poised to strike if the battle reached the camp. He tensed as he saw Goldenstar's patrol, but breathed an almost audible sigh of relief when he realized they hadn't been followed. He'd intended to head to the medicine den to check on Fawnsong, but as the meeting call reached his ears he headed toward the Tallrock instead, casting an anxious glance at the den over his shoulder.

He spotted Batsong sitting near Lightningpaw and Rosepaw, and made his way over to join them. He shifted impatiently, questions burning at the tip of his tongue, but with nothing to do except wait for Goldenstar to explain.

Batsong gave a grin and nod to Rosepaw as she licked at her wounds. The battle had been tough and had left Batsong exhausted and sore, but seeing her clanmates she was reminded why she fought, to protect this clan no matter what! Seeing Rosepaw reminded her of this and she leaned on her apprentice a bit happy she was safe and here now. Her good friend Scorchtalon was also here and she nuzzled him a little in greeting as well her wounds stung something wicked but she had helped the patrol stop the invaders that is what mattered.

"I---.... im sorry about y-y...your brother" she stuttered as usual looking at Scortchtalon,

"He g-g..got hurt pretty bad but he is safe n-now." she shuddered thinking about poor Fawnsong's eyes.

Ryepaw watched with his orange eyes as Goldenstar and her patrol had come into the camp. Truth to be told, he was a bit bitter that Goldenstar had him, her own apprentice, left in camp to "defend" it. Although he wasn't particular fond of his mentor, he was glad that she had come back because if she didn't there would have been The Dark Forest to pay if she would not have returned.

As Goldenstar called the clan together he sat down and said nothing. The 'invaders' that Goldenstar was talking about were the Dark Forest cat's, or so Ryepaw had guessed. As he sat there he saw no real reason for this meeting, but it's whatever for the clan.
