For the first time in quite a while, Freckleface had an apprentice! Today, they'd be venturing out into ShadowClan territory in order to get some hunting done. Freckleface, with her features as bright and glowing as usual, padded out of the warriors den and into the darkening night, looking to the sky as it was painted in hues of wondrous pink and purple. After a moment spent admiring the view, gazing into silverpelt in the distance, the small warrior made her way to the apprentice's den and called out softly, "Galepaw, it's time to go out for a hunt!" Cheerfully, she padded back into the middle of camp, waiting for the she-cat to appear so that they could get moving into the night.

Galepaw was awake when she heard Freckleface's voice. Quietly, she rose from her nest where she had been resting and padded out into camp to join her mentor, greeting her with a respectful nod. She was tired from a long day, naturally, but she figured it was always good to learn something new or brush up on new skills. "I'm ready when you are, Freckleface," she mewed, briefly looking up towards the sky. It was looking rather nice, wasn't it? A little awkwardly, she continued, not great at making small-talk. "...The sky looks pretty tonight. I like the...colors."

When Galepaw emerged, Freckleface gave her a happy grin, beaming from ear to ear. "Alrighty!" She meowed happily, padding out of camp and gesturing for Galepaw to follow closely behind her. They would be hunting in the middle of the marshes today, so toads, frogs, rodents, and birds would likely be their most likely catches. Nodding intently at Galepaw's observation, Freckleface smiled, "Oh, yes! It's absolutely splendid, isn't it?" She happily replied, trying her best to keep her pawsteps even as she traversed the marsh. "This is my favorite time. When the sun is just going down, and the sky has hundreds of beautiful colors. It's especially wonderful if you can see those light, fluffy clouds, with silverpelt in the background."

Freckleface has a lot of energy, Galepaw thought to herself, following after her mentor as they traversed the marshes. She didn't have anything against it, of course, it was simply an interesting observation...and it made her wonder how the molly had seemingly boundless energy in comparison to Galepaw's. Perhaps that was something to bring up later. Picking her pawsteps carefully in order to avoid the muggiest parts, the gray-and-white apprentice nodded along to Freckleface's words. "Silverpelt...That's where StarClan is, right?" As they walked, Galepaw did her best to keep her senses alert for any sign of prey nearby.

Nodding along to Galepaw's question, Freckleface offered her a gentle smile. "That's right!" The little she-cat chirped, lifting her gaze to where the stars grew brighter and brighter with each passing moment. Her light pawsteps lended well to not getting too much mud all over her fur, but her lighter brown socks soon became coated in the thick, oozing stuff. Every now and then she'd flick her paw, trying to get the excess off as best she could. Once they'd finally reached a suitable place to hunt, Freckleface stopped walking and turned to face Galepaw. "Alright, Galepaw, time to show me how much you remember from our last training session." She mewed happily, backing away slightly. "I'm going to do some hunting as well. I'll be nearby so if you need me, just call out. Try to catch as much prey as you can!" With that, she gave a simple nod and bounded off in the opposite direction. Galepaw was young, but she didn't expect the she-cat to get into too much trouble. Besides... She was close enough to keep an ear out for her anyway.

With her maw parted to taste the air, Freckleface slowed to a walk, and kept her eyes peeled for any movement in the dark. In her peripheral vision, she noted slight movement and turned to face it, eyes locking on a small vole relaxing in the mud. Dropping into a crouch, she slowly approached it, readying herself to pounce... And, with little effort, she landed on top of it and quickly put an end to the encounter, burying her newly caught prey with an air of satisfaction.
