Worried eyes watched the narrow crevice between the barn doors. The faint breeze that seeped in called to him, but the dangers that lurked just beyond kept him trapped within the barn's confines. That's how he felt. Trapped.

Astershine anxiously flexed his claws. They itched for the pines, they itched for Skyclan's land, they itched to run all the way back home. Still, he knew that even if he did manage to escape this barn, there would be no way for him to know where home was. The moment he was hoisted into a monster's belly the view of his surroundings had been obstructed, all he knew until he arrived at this farm was the insides of the monster.

There were other cats here, too. Cats he didn't really know, but they couldn't be that much different from him. They were all from the clans, after all... well, most of them.

The nearest cat to him looked approachable... enough. Thoughtful and quiet, but not hostile. Probably just as worried as he was himself, if he had to guess. Nobody wanted to be here. While they were stuck here, they might as well make the best of it.

Swallowing his worried, he approached the tom, hoping that he would accept his offer. "Hey, I'm Astershine... Do you want to do something? Spar, maybe? I need to stretch my paws."

Sprucebark felt the same way, trapped. He also had no idea which way was home. He was so relived when his sister also showed up here too but at the same time worried sick that now meant that both of them were lost.

He glanced up from his spot hearing approaching steps.

A cat by the name of Astershine introduced himself and from what little scent they all had of their homes he appeared to be from skyclan.

"Good to meet you! I am Sprucebark of Riverclan. Son of Poppyshine he introdueced very formaly as always.

He was a very proper cat after all. He nodded a little at the request to practice their sparring. Sure we could do that, but no claws of course because of course he would rememebr the rules of such things and be the one to remind his new friend as well.


He led the way over to a more open area where they would have more room to do so and was just about to start when the corner of his eye caught a movment from above. At first, he thought it was a twoleg or one of those dogs that had chased the ones who had escaped. He tried his best to warn Astershine but it was too little too late.

Heavy flapping of wings bore down on his new friend as a big barn owl grabbed at the skyclanner with big long talons trying to carry him off like he was a kitten. Flashbacks ran through Sprucebark remembering when his sister got carried off as a kitten.


Barn Owl uses Swoop attacking Astershine for 9 dmg and using 15 sp

Sprucebark snapped out of it and let out a defensive growl. Back home, the rules were to not really get involved with other clans but here they all had to watch each others backs.

He leapt at the owl being careful not to hit his friend by accident. He managed to connect and swatted the owl making the owl drop Astershine back down to the floor with a little thud.

Sprucebark uses Front Paw Blow for 7 dmg and 5 sp. He uses blow and not strike because he didnt wanna use claws in case he missed and accidently hit aster

The Skyclanner smiled in response to Sprucebark's introduction. Maybe he should try being formal in the future. He didn't really know who Poppyshine was, though. "Oh- yeah, of course not." He knew better than to use claws in a friendly spar. Following behind the other tom, his gaze moved from left to right, taking in his surroundings once more. One could never be too familiar with their environment. He wondered if Sprucebark also wanted a distraction from their situation, if that was why he'd agree to spar with him.

While his mind jumped form topic to topic, he missed the flicker of movement from above, but managed to notice the sudden heavy sound of flapping wings above him. "Agh-" Astershine let out a yowl and attempted to evade the owl's talons, but he was no Windclanner; he wasn't fats enough. The owls talons dug into his flank and he felt his paws be lifted off of the ground, but not far. Seething, he tried to turn toward the owl, but every time he moved the talons pierced his flesh further. There was no way he could get a hit on the bird. "Sprucebark!" The tom called out, but Sprucebark was already on the attack, the owl had dropped him almost immediately after he'd spoken. Hitting the gorund with a light thud, he pulled himself to his paws, backing away. His wounds were oozing blood, and now there was dirt and straw stuck to him. There was nothing he could do about it now, he supposed. He'd have to push through the pain until the owl was down. It was his own fault, he'd supposed. The scent of owl had been lingering in the barn for the past few days, he should have been more vigilant.

Throwing himself back into battle, he leaped for the owl, claws outstretched, aimed for it's underside. Clutching onto it, ge pulled it to the ground and slashed away until it was able to scramble from his grasp.
