Mentor, student (Closed)

Ebonysong woke up early as soon as the first rays of the sun filtered into the warrior's den. She hadn't slept for a long time, too busy worrying about training her first apprentice, Tinypaw. The apprentice was Flintstar's kit, which made her worry even more as Ebonysong thought about what her punishment would be if she let Tinypaw get hurt. Shaking off the negative thoughts, the dark-grey she-cat focused on the task. Stepping across the pelts of sleeping apprentices, she used her nose to nudge Tinypaw up. "Meet me outside. It's time for training. Grab some fresh-kill if you're hungry. I'll wait at the camp entrance." With that said, the warrior slipped back out of the den and patiently waited for Tinypaw to come and find her.

Tinypaw woke with a yawn, flicking an ear in Ebonysong’s direction to let her know he’d heard her. He took his time stretching out in his nest in an effort to wake up. Once he had, Tinypaw bounded out of the apprentice den with bright eyes. He trotted over to where his mentor was waiting for him. “What’ll we do today?” He asked with an excited swish of his tail, eagerly waiting for Ebonysong's answer.

OOC: Do you want hunting and battle at the same time or just one?

Ebonysong nodded at Tinypaw as he arrived beside her. Using a forepaw and pushing a piece of fresh-kill towards him, Ebonysong stood up. "Today we're going to learn how to hunt and maybe fight if we get the chance. Come on, we're going to the hunting grounds." Flicking her tail at Tinypaw to let him follow her, the dark-grey she-cat padded out of camp, arriving at the pine grove. "This is where we're going to be hunting today. Now, try and scent for any prey."

Tinypaw beamed at the thought of practicing his fighting moves-- hunting was all well and good, but he wanted to prove he could be just as strong as any average cat. Dutifully, he followed his mentor to the pine grove, although he was busy imaging himself fending off a badger with his own teeth and claws. He nearly knocked into her when she stopped to instruct him. “Oh-- yeah, okay!” He gave himself a little shake to chase away his daydream, lifting his head to taste the air for prey. His whiskers twitched as he picked up the scent of a mouse and he dropped into his hunting crouch. “Mouse,” he mumbled and flicked his tail in its general direction.
