Adder, Subtracter [Closed]

It was a nice, relaxing night as always. Shimmerpaw was out of camp, curled up on the soggy ground. She relished the feeling of being alone. In camp, it just...Didn’t seem to feel comfortable. It felt like there were eyes on her at every turn, even though Shimmerpaw knew her mind was probably making things up.

Shimmerpaw didn’t realise how close to the border she was. She had simply wandered over, just out of range of smelling the scent lines.

For a second, Shimmerpaw thought she heard something. But no, it must be her imagination. No other cat in RiverClan would be up so late. She didn’t think so.

Adderpaw didn't have any particular destination when she left camp a few minutes earlier. She never really had a plan for anything, and it had worked out well for her so far. Instead, she just let her paws carry her wherever they wanted to go. Her mind was absent as she walked, worries and fears nowhere to be found.

As she continued stepping gently through the underbrush, Adderpaw suddenly spotted a small figure curled up on the moss in front of her. Oh joy, she thought sarcastically, annoyed that there were cats outside of camp as well. Was nowhere sacred? She would've growled if she could, but as it stood she simply scowled and unsheathed her claws. Bloodstrike would never let her fight with one of their own, but this cat wasn't SkyClan. Probably. She was fair game, as far as Adderpaw was concerned. Without so much as a warning for the other cat, the tuxedo apprentice pounced on the RiverClanner and raked at her back with unsheathed claws.

The strike took the black-and-white she-cat by surprise. Yowling, Shimmerpaw spun around to come face-to-face with a black cat. Judging by her looks, she was probably also an Apprentice...And the smell...

Wait...The other cat didn't smell RiverClan. What was that smell? Trees? Was she from ThunderClan or SkyClan?

That would mean...

"In case you're unaware, you're trespassing!" Shimmerpaw snapped. She raked her paws over Adderpaw's belly strongly. She had attacked first, after all. There was no use negotiating.

Shimmerpaw used 10 SP to use Belly Rake on Adderpaw, dealing 7 damage!

Adderpaw barely winced as claws raked down her belly, spilling blood. Not because it didn't hurt, it certainly did, but because she simply didn't care. Baring her teeth, she charged forward, pounced and pinned the other apprentice to the ground. She clawed madly at the other cat, warm blood pooling beneath her claws.

What the...Really? Shimmerpaw gritted her teeth as the other Apprentice drove her into the ground. Pain struck through her body, and she began to regret not staying near to camp, so reinforcements had a chance of coming.

Seriously, though, was this cat here just to pick a fight?

The she-cat wriggled, trying to get out, to no avail.

Adderpaw smiled mirthlessly at the other apprentice, watching her get weaker by the second as claws slashed at her from above. This was nothing like hunting prey, she realised. This was so much more fun. She would've laughed if she could, a dry rasping noise emerging from her lips instead.

Shimmerpaw gritted her teeth. Blood was flowing freely from her wounds, staining the ground red. Not just hers, though. Some blood also came from the other Apprentice.

Wriggling, Shimmerpaw was still unable to escape. What kind of Apprentice is she if she couldn't even defeat someone else? She wriggled harder.

Adderpaw snarled as she felt Shimmerpaw wriggle out of her grasp, the blood on her fur helping her slip away. She jumped away from the silver she cat, tail in the air, before charging at her again and batting at her with a paw. Her claws were unsheathed , but they didn't quite manage to pierce Shimmerpaw's skin.

The swat sent the already weak Apprentice crashing to the ground. Grunting, Shimmerpaw struggled to her paws. She panted fiercely, no longer having the energy to strike out again. Blood oozed from her multiple wounds. Stepping back, Shimmerpaw knew she was defeated.

No wonder no one ever seems to like you...

Not bothering to speak more, Shimmerpaw turned and trudged off. She had no way of stopping the other Apprentice, but hopefully now that she had been beaten up, the other cat would finally come to her senses and leave.
