Adderpaw's Moonstone Journey

Mouth agape, Adderpaw continued to gaze at Tigerpaw with wide, disbelieving eyes as she struggled to piece together the situation. Even his words struggled to full connect in her whirling mind, leaving her to merely sit there and gaze at him with the most idiotic expression upon her face. Even the word died flew completely over her head in her befuddled state of mind. But she had just seen him! How was he here- was this some sort of cruel joke on Jaystream's behalf?

And then it clicked.

Feeling her mouth snap shut, Adderpaw felt a pang within her heart that was so truly terrible that it stole her breath once more. The thought of her mother and littermates back in camp, grieving without her made her eyes burn with tears that had yet to spill. "But...I- I don't want to..." Her rambling train of thoughts was abruptly cut off as Tigerpaw spoke once more, a faint ringing threatening to overtake her brother's quiet voice. "Tigerfeather..." Adderpaw mused to herself, doing her best to memorize the name. She knew that Ivystar had bestowed a Warrior name upon a recently dead apprentice not terribly long ago, so perhaps she'd be willing to do it once more. "Will I get to see you again? Or do I really have to wait until I'm dead?"
