Leopardclaw didn't have time to catch his breath before his head went under; he struggled against the restraining paw but he wasn't able to shift it, and ran out of breath.  Inhaling water, when his head came back up the golden spotted tom gasped feebly, before coughing up the small amount of liquid that had entered his lungs, the top half of his body trembling from the cold.  I've always hated the water...

Minnowpaw felt a little bad taking advantage of how dazed the apprentice was from being half-drowned by she had to shove that aside. It was her duty to fight for RiverClan, and she was certain that this apprentice wouldn't have shown her any mercy if she had been in the same position. So she forced her down and raked at her belly. It felt wrong, and the blood on her claws made her feel ill but it was necessary.

Leopardclaw bit his lip, holding back a yowl of pain as Jaystream slashed at his belly; this was it.  His injured leg was about to give out any second, and when he took a step back it did.  Wincing, the golden spotted deputy flashed his rival a last withering look of hatred, before limping wearily off the rocks, and retreated into the bushes on ThunderClan's side to inspect his wounds.  Maybe he could find Honeyspark or Maplepaw in the fray, get some herbs to help with the gashes on his leg...  Peering out, he tried to catch sight of his children's pelt among the fray.  StarClan protect them...

Artemis twisted around just in time to glimpse Blizzard Star die. A choked cry was caught in his throat. The one cat he had known, and so longed to fight for, had not survived. He instantly abandoned his target and whipped around, leaping up from the ground. He needed to do something more. The tom abandoned his current target and whipped around. Before he could make it to the other side of the clearing, near where the worst of the fighting was. He watched as the pure white she-cat rose from the ground, where she had laid second earlier.

Cats were on her in a flash and he threw himself at the nearest one, a tiny she-cat; apparently one with some skill to have still been fighting. The Thunderclan leader wouldn't be allowed to die again at this cat's paws. Even if it was impossible for Blizzard Star to rise once already, he did not want to chance a second time. Blood covered the ground. The fighting had gone on and on. He just wanted it to end. A low hiss escaped his maw, "There is no honor in two fighting against one."
