The Fox hunts [Closed Patrol]

Shadowleaf stood at the entrance of Camp waiting on her new apprentice Foxpaw to join her for a quick hunting session.

Foxpaw padded out of the apprentices den. He was excited to learn to hunt.

"Alright Foxpaw, follow me and then I will show you how to hunt alright?" The warrior said before padding out of camp, leading the way to a decent spot to hunt.

"Alrighty!" Foxpaw replied happily. He skipped after his mentor, grinning broadly.

ooc: Do you know how the hunting system works already?

Shadowleaf finally reached a clearing for her to help her apprentice ready his hunting crouch. Once it was looking somewhat decent they could try to hunt. "Show me you crouch."

OOC: I have a slight idea of how It works, but I don't know it very clearly, so you might still need to teach me it.

Foxpaw followed Shadowleaf until they come to halt. When his mentor told him to get into a crouch, he did so, feeling a bit doubtful. "It's not very good, Is it?" he sighed, then lightly shook himself. What am I thinking? I haven't even learned anything just yet, yet I'm already doubting myself?
He huffed. "Anything I'm doing wrong?" he asked, trying to sound more confident.

"It's a start but you have to learn just like everyone else." Shadowleaf said. "Make sure you are very close to the ground, and be mindful of your tail don't let it brush against anything." She informed.

ooc: Okay so the hunting system is easier than the battle system in my opinion. https://warriorclancats.forumotion.com/t27047-hunting-system Here is the list of prey and stuff, and the catch rate. To roll some dice you want to click the post reply button down at the forum. Once you get there there is a section for dice roll just slightly below the post section. You have to pick the hunting die and once you send a post it will do the dice roll as well.

OOC: Ok. So when the dice has rolled, it chooses a random number automatically..? Why am I asking this? OF COURSE that's what it does! It's a dice! XD

Foxpaw nodded, and lowered himself more. He ever so slightly lifted his tail, and tried to keep it still."Like this?"

"Better! You will get the hang of it as you practice more." The warrior said. "Alright now lets put this to use, follow me and be quiet okay? I want you to see how it's done." She spoke up again. "I also want you to remember that no matter how good you are at hunting you miss sometimes, so if you ever miss don't worry about it okay?" She was saying that mostly in case she missed, it would be embarrassing but it just happens sometimes.

Shadowleaf motioned for Foxpaw to follow her as she tracked down a mouse, that she had scented near by. Once she found the squirrel scurrying among some freshly growing plants, she crouched low and moved forward a little before pouncing on the fluffy tailed creature. Once she had it trapped she quickly killed it. She would bury it afterwards to show Foxpaw how to do that too. "Did you get a good idea?" She asked.

ooc: Once you get the number from the die, you can go back an edit your old post.

Uh, yeah!" Foxpaw replied. He turned a little, and lifted his chin to taste the air. "There is a shrew over there," he murmured, pointing his muzzle towards a bush. He heard rustling near it, and dropped into a crouch and crept forward. Once he got around the bush he saw that the shrew was a fox-length from him. He then leapt forward. He had overshot it, and went right over the shrew. "Mouse dung!"

"That's alright Foxpaw. I like your energy." The warrior buried her squirrel for later. "Let's find another and try again, take it a little bit slower this time okay?" Hopefully it would go better for the little apprentice. She at least wanted him to catch one thing before they went back to camp.

Foxpaw nodded. He smelled the air again. This time, there was a vole.
He dropped into the crouch and stealthily crept toward where he heard the rustling. The vole was chewing on something, Foxpaw didn't care what. He leaped forward, and practically landed on it. He swiftly bit down hard until the vole went limp. "I did it!"

OOC: I have also been training in SkyClan so I forgot that if I go at a 6, I would still have caught it because in SkyClan, there is a 1-5 chance, while it's 1-6 in TC. But we can just go with Foxpaw missing, especially because it was only his first try.
