Family Reunion

Rowantalon approached the nursery and stuck his head in.
"Lilackit, Oakkit, Wildkit, Spottedkit, Daykit," He purred gently. "Come out and meet everyone!"

The tiny gray kit slowly exited the nursery.
"E-everyone?" she asked, trying poorly to mask her nervousness.

The small, brown she-cat poked her head out from the nursery, eyes glinting with silent fear.
"D-Do we have to? Now?" Oakkit murmured, slinking forward into the light.

The tom chuckled gently. "Everything will be fine." He purred, gently nudging them into the open. "Go on, say hello to everyone!"

"Hello...?"
Lilackit sounded unsure of herself, sticking close to her sister.
She hoped no one would stare at her.
Being the focus of attention was scary.

Oakkit let out a breath she wasn't aware she was holding and murmured a soft, Hello-" to her clan, before ducking behind her sister.

Lilackit worried as Oakkit hid behind her.
What if everyone was staring at her?
She really, really didn't want them to be staring at her.

OOC: I'm just gonna insert my adoptive cat here....

Daykit got to his paws behind his siblings. He watched with interest as his sister Lilackit stood nervously outside the nursery. Oakkit was behind her. The brown tabby harrumphed as he followed them. His face lit up when the sight of his father, Rowantalon, came clear into view.

Wildkit crept out of the nursery, and proudly sat next to her siblings, Lilackit and Oakkit as they were watched by the clan.


The newly named Leafpaw watched as three new kitties walked out of the nursery. Remembering what her first time out was like, she walked up to the nearest one, Lilackit and started to talk to her. "Hello there, how are you?" she mewed.

"M-me?" Lilackit asked, unsure of whether the apprentice was referring to her. "I'm... Everyone is watching..."

Leafpaw nodded with understanding, then continued. "I remember when I first came out of the nursery. Everything was so bright and overwhelming! But you'll get used to it, especially when everyone's so friendly!" she curled her tail around her front paws as she sat down.

OOC: AHEM* Four new kitties. Daykit is now a brother thanks to Drippy and her love of taking in children.

Daykit watched Leafpaw skeptically. She seemed super calm and happy. Rowantalon always talked about how proud he was of her. I wonder if he'll ever be proud of me like that, he thought. He shook his head to himself. Nah, I'm not his real son. Daykit's actual parents had both died soon after he was born, so Rowantalon, out of kindness, took him in. The dark tabby never met his own parents, but was grateful he could be raised by someone as kind and strong as Rowantalon.

"They are...?" Lilackit certainly hoped so. "It's not scary?"
She wanted to be as brave as Leafpaw.

Wildkit noticed Daykit looking at Leafpaw in the back of the nursery. "What are you doing back here? she questioned playfully. "Don't you want to meet everyone?" she gave him a well meaning nudge.
