An Official Patrol [Closed]

Lionspark purred happily as she waited near the entrance of the camp, her tail wrapped around her paws as she waited for Bramblefrost. Things had been good between the two and Lionspark couldn't believe she had ever hated the tom as an apprentice. He was just so charming and...Oh, there was no hope in denying that she had a crush on her old mentor. And while he was nothing but charming, she couldn't help but keep finding herself wondering if he loved her back. Why did feelings have to be so hard? She sighed, glancing around the camp as she waited for him.

Bramblefrost let out a small sigh. It was so embarrassing, watching his apprentice flit around like a little kit. Everyone in camp could see the she-cat's little crush bloom, no matter how much she tried to hide it. Perhaps it was the tom's blatant teasing that made it more obvious, or Lionspark's lack of subtlety, but somehow, it became a well known secret.

As the brown tabby padded towards his old apprentice, he heard the few whispers shared between gossiping queens.

"Oh look, they're going out alone."

"When will they admit it? Everyone knows already."

While one part of him wanted to turn around, boasting his excellence and how he wouldn't stoop so low, his more logical side froze his ego. No. There was something to be gained in this endeavor. Even if he didn't know what it was just yet.

"How long are you going to sit there?" he meowed as he slid through the brambles and past the golden warrior.

Lionspark's eyes lit up the moment she saw the Bramblefrost come padding across the camp, far to caught up in her sudden burst of emotions to tell how unhappy he was of the whole thing. She opened her mouth, ready to greet him when he suddenly brushed past with a few words. She ears fell back on her head, a blush flashing underneath her fur as she hurried to her paws. "I'm coming!" she said quickly as she followed him out of the camp and into the forest. She tasted the air for prey but her eyes fell onto the large, well-built tom before her. She felt like she was just a kit around him, all the emotions that she felt for the tom making thinking hard and she knew she could act foolish at times but...She sighed softly to herself, tearing her gaze away even if it was hard. He was always so charming and she felt like he loved her back but he had never said the words to her...She swallowed with a shake of her head, trying to force down her feelings. They were going to go hunting - she couldn't let her thoughts get distracted mostly when she is around him. She didn't want to seem like a poor hunter, mostly when he was the one that had trained her.

Bramblefrost's gaze fell back, watching her out of the corner of his eye. He had to hold back the rising laugh in his throat. He was having too much fun toying with the she-cat's heart. The part of him that wondered if it was wrong to do this to his own apprentice, the smallest fraction of pity and empathy had been completely overridden by his enjoyment.

"I don't want to be out here for long. I hope you're ready to hunt without a break." The tabby huffed. His pace quickened to a trot as they headed deeper into the territory towards the more active hunting grounds.

Lionspark followed along faithfully, her tail swishing back and forth at the simple joy of being in the forest with the tom that she loved so much. Her head dipped in simple acknowledgement of his words, already keeping a mouth open for the taste of prey but did keep glancing back at Bramblefrost with a slight heat rising in her cheeks. "Of course," she meowed as they drew closer to the hunting grounds, a small smirk on her face. Did he doubt her hunting skills? She had learned from the best - she had learned from him.
