Friends Go Hunting Together....Right? (Closed for Amber)

"Yeah"she mewed smiling some. She sniffed the air and she finally caught the scent she was looking for. She crouched and crept forward quietly.she spotted the water vole. She had leapt but she had missed the water vole as it dove into it's burrow. She flattened her ears. She has really hoped she could catch the vole for Leopardpaw.

Leopardpaw watched curiously as Lichenpaw began to stalk something along the water's edge. Peeking around the side of her, he realized that it was a water vole. Sitting back down, Leopardpaw held back a surprised laugh. What a coincidence it was that they came across the two prey items they had discussed earlier?

Leopardpaw watched as Lichenpaw leaped for the rodent, but it slipped between her paws. When she turned back around, he met her with a reassuring smile. "It's okay Lichenpaw." Remembering a trick that Grasswhisker had taut him earlier, he purred. "If we wait and stay completely silent, I'm sure it will come back out of it's hole."

Crouching down silently, he whispered "It's leafbare, animals will brave anything to get food." With a playful smirk, he focused on the small rodent's hole.

She blinked and nodded smiling some. She came over silently and crouch down next to him waiting.

After a while of quiet waiting, Leopardpaw finally noticed a small head poke out from the hole. Ears perked, he waited until it had fully emerged from it's shelter, and prepared to pounce. At the last second, he remembered that this was Lichenpaw's prey, not his. Crouching back, he looked at her with telling eyes, waiting for her to pounce.

Lichenpaw seen the rodent pole it's head out and she bunched her muscles and then pounces going for the water vole. As she pounces she landed squarely on the water vole and killed it swiftly before she smiled eyes beaming.

Leopardpaw watched proudly as Lichenpaw dashed forward and killed the small animal. Beaming, he walked up to her and purred. "Wow, great catch Lichenpaw!" Giving her shoulder a friendly nudge, he looked up at the sky. "It's almost past sun-high, we should be heading back." As he began to lead the way back to camp, he looked around carefully for any sign of prey. He didn't want to go back empty pawed.

"Thanks if not for you to tell me to be patient I wouldn't have caught it"She purred smiling before she nodded picking her catch up.

Leopardpaw looked back at the calico she-cat and purred.  "No problem!  Grasswhisker recently mentioned that trick to me, so it's really thanks to her."  Letting out a slight chuckle, the spotted tom perked his ears.  There was a rustling in the bushes.  

Creeping closer, he watched as a magpie hopped out.  Surprised, he wondered if it was the same one from earlier.  Eyes narrowing, he began to stalk the feathered creature.

She blinked and smiled some watching.

When he was close enough to the bird, he leaped. Pinning the black and white creature to the group, he quickly snapped it's neck. Purring, he picked it up in his jaws and padded over to Lichenpaw. Setting the bird down at her paws, he meowed shyly "H..here! You can have it." With a bashful smile, he waited to see if she would take it.

(i decided to bypass the hunting system for just this one xD)

Lichenpaw blinked and purred some not expecting the gift she set the water vole down smiling some and mewed"thank you....here this is for you"she mewed nudging the water vole to him before she picked up the magpie smiling.

Leopardpaw purred as they exchanged prey, and his mouth watered. He would be keeping the delicious creature. Flicking his tail, Leopardpaw led the way back to camp, his spirits high.
