Red, Sweet Juicy Red Death (OPEN DEATH TOPIC)

The first footsteps she managed into camp were accompanied by unimaginable burst of pain from her lungs, and the she-cat tumbled like a dead rabbit, blinking fuzzily into the sunlight. Her chest was heaving unevenly and Auburnpaw rolled over on her bacm, yowling from the cramps tearing at her belly. She hadn't done anything to say she might have been hurt from it. She had just went for a hunt and had a scrappy little rabbit, as the prey was getting fewer and fewer for the moorland cats.

Of course, the rabbit. Must have ate a deathberry, the stupid thing. And now, Auburnpaw was spasming onto the battered floor of the camp. What a sweet, delicious way to die.

Twistedkit, confused by all the commotion, stopped her conversation short and sped over to Aburnpaw's dead body. She yowled out as she watched her take her last breaths. She was not a dumb kit, she knew how to tell when someone died. She nudged her over and over hoping she was mistaken, but her body had already gone cold. She sank down and murmured over and over, "no no no no no no. foxdung." looking around the camp, she searched the ground for a half-eaten rabbit. "We-we..." She tried to say to get rid of whatever hare she ate, but she couldn't speak. She was the easily saddened, easily excited type. She just sank to the ground, numb with grief.

Life was cruel.

Spottedpaw's eyes widened in horror at the terrifying, sickening death. She ran over to the young kit, hiding her view of the body. "Twistedkit, you shouldn't see this..." She murmured, wanting to puke.

Twistedkit just blinked and cried. She yowled a slow, small yowl. "Di-did she eat-" she cut herself short again and mourned herself to a fitful sleep.

Spottedpaw sighed, awkwardly curling herself around the kit.

Oh, life was cruel? Lovely. It must've been for Twistedkit, must've been, of course. Not like she'd lost her own daughter.

Blacktwig was patrolling around the territory. It was fine, all fine. He hadn't stepped one foot in, and didn't expect to. WindClan was fine to ThunderClan, no harm was done between them, and the boundaries were friendly. Especially since Blacktwig had gotten into a cross-clan relationship recently, with the bubbly character, Emberfall.

His daughter shouldn't have died today. He swung his head around as he patrolled the border, but saw a fuzzy brown shape collapsed on the ground.

He shouldn't have observed it.

Blacktwig padded forwards, the warrior lead by sheer curiosity. He peered over the border just a bit, and was shocked and horrified by what he saw. His daughter, laying lifeless and sprawled on the ground like prey freshly hunted.

Tears welled up in his eyes, and he could almost feel a bitter grief coming on. He unsheathed his claws, preparing himself for a loud roar at the kit and the apprentice gathered. Instead, silence fell, and he ran away with denial.

She was dead... Dear Auburnpaw... Dead.

Twistedkit twitched in her fitful sleep, crying out aloud. She slept in her older adopted sibling (through heatherstripe I am pretty sure) awkwardly as images of Auburnpaw's broken body lay on the ground. She eventually awoke from her fainting but did not move, just stared at the ground in grief. She was too young to see a death, and the experience would most likely haunt her for the rest of her life.
