Burningkit, Firekit, Flamekit, and Foxkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Jumping up on the Highrock was getting a bit tiring, but Darkstar couldn't complain. There were so many ceremonies to be done! Seeing every kit grow into a fine warrior felt wonderful, especially watching their progress. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

Cloverpool padded out of the nursery and flicked her tail for her son, Burningkit, to follow.

Mistywater padded out of her den and smiled as she loved watching kits get their warrior, or apprentice name. She felt joy every time their new name was called.

Firekit darted out of the den and looked back. "Come on guys! It's time." She was being quick about it but at the same time being careful because she didn't want to mess up the grooming she just had done by her mother.

Sorrel walked out of the nursery after her kits making sure they were all going to be in the right spot for the ceremony and made sure they looked good. It was important. This ceremony was a big step for them and she couldn't be more proud.

Scorchfrost limped out by Mistywater, watching Cloverpool's last son become an apprentice.

Burningkit held his head up high with a big grin as he padded up.

Flamekit was quick to follow behind her mother, walking calmly and proudly, her chest puffed out as she stalked over to where she was to be seated. Her short fur was all glossy and well groomed, not a tuft out of place as she sat down in the centre of the clearing next to her sister. She looked up at Darkstar with eagerness that was tempered with patience.

Foxkit, on the other hand, raced out of the nursery without a care for his carefully groomed fur, bolting towards the clearing and half crashing into Burningkit. "Sorry," he meowed to the fellow tom before he looked up at Darkstar for the ceremony to begin. He couldn't believe this was actually happening!

Dusk was the last to arrive, chasing after Foxkit to nip the moss ball that clung to his fur before settling down next to his mate. His face had a clearly exasperate look that he shared with her before taking on a look of pride at the sight of their kits lined up and ready to recent their names.

Blackpaw whisked throughout the trees, inky black pelt as silent as the beating of an owl's wing in the night. He tilted his head with curiosity. These were Sorrel's kits, weren't they? He felt a twinge of distrust run through him, yet he believed profusely that he was being a bit too judgemental. He shrugged and took a seat beside Foxkit.

ic- Darkstar, to be frank, wasn't all too familiar with Sorrel. The only guess she had was that her father, Foxfang, had had a neice named Sorrelheart. But of course she knew Dusk, who she had known for much of her life as Duskfall. The litter of kittens before her bore the same names as her late kin, she was sure. She turned her eyes to Cloverpool and her son, gazing at the older she-cat's face. She could see the silver on her muzzle plain as day, and she supposed another elder ceremony may be due soon.

But now was a time for celebration. "Burningkit, Firekit, Flamekit, and Foxkit. You have each reached the age of six moons and it is time that you became apprenticed. From now until you have received your warrior names, you shall be known as Burningpaw, Firepaw, Flamepaw, and Foxpaw. Your mentors will be Morningshine, Stormstrike, Blazingleap, and Scorchfrost. I know they will train you to the best of their abilities." She would test the younger warriors, who had only been apprentices a few moons before, while also spreading apprentices evenly. Despite having many ceremonies, she never seemed to have enough warriors to train apprentices without being forced to double up. She supposed she should allow Dusk and Sorrel to become accustomed to clan life again without being overwhelmed.

Blackpaw's eyes sparkled with hope that one day, maybe, he would be granted the ability to train his own apprentice. Now, the sable-pelted tom sat in the sunlight, yawning as the heat gravitated towards him. He gave a nod of courtesy towards the new apprentices, believing that they would do quite well, due to the Dark Forest's reign having been long gone now.

He speculated that Darkstar, too, was having thoughts about the kits' ancestry. Yet, with the tri-limbed leader's glance towards Cloverpool, he let out a tiny, relieved sigh. Soon, she would be released from the icy grasp of clan life, the apprentice hoped.

Morningshine padded over to Burningpaw, purring as she bent down to touch noses with him.
"I'm excited to begin training with you." She told Burningpaw.

Blazingleap smiled as his name was called among those who would mentor the new apprentices. The ginger tom stood up and padded over to Flamepaw, bending down to touch noses. "I am looking forward to training you," he purred to the tortoiseshell she-cat, his voice calm and gentle.
